ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!

Today is V-J Day which celebrates Victory over Japan on August 14, 1945 when it was announced to the world that Japan had surrendered to the Allies, signifying the end of WWII. The historic milestone is celebrated annually on September 2nd which is the date of Japan’s formal surrender aboard the U.S.S. Missiouri.
To celebrate today take a moment to remember those who fought for victory, it’s estimated that anywhere from 50 to 60 million people lost their lives during WWII , on both sides of the war.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If we don’t end wars. war will end us.
H.G. Wells
As far as I’m concerned there has never been a good war. We lose more than we win in most cases. No matter who wins, we all lose something. It may be homes, jobs or people in our lives. I was very glad to see the end of the war in Afgahanistan this week. I’m only sad that so many lives were lost and that not every American got to come home, but our President promises that everything will be done to bring them home again.
For me, to find ways to make peace is such a much better thing to strive for. Peace is a wonderful thing and has so many benefits. Peace in the world is something I constantly pray for. There are still many others at war, and we need to find ways to make peace not wars.
On this special day may we always remember those that sacrificed so much that we can now live in peace. Our nation is no longer at war, and their self sacrifices will never be forgotten.
I’ve been praying for our soldiers since DS#2 was in the Navy during Dessert Storm. I know the worry of the possibility of losing a loved one in the service of their country. He survived but many others didn’t and won’t so I keep praying for them every day.
I hope you all have a GREAT day Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
There was never a good war, or a bad peace.
Benjamin Frianklin
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
9495 for peace in our nation
9496. for never having had to live where war was fought
9497.for the land of the free and the home of the brave
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
