ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Common Courtesy Day. Let’s face it, common courtesy has never been as ‘common’ as some people would have us believe. However, with every passing generation the previous is certain that common courtesy is just fading from the world altogether. Truly the aged look back upon the past with rose tinted glasses, and their vision is perhaps imperfect as a result. However, there is only one thing that can truly bring about the golden age of courtesy we all claim existed ‘when I was your age’, and that is the raising of awareness of common courtesy as a thing necessary to a world.
We can all spread the gospel of courtesy that we feel the world should contain. At the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about isn’t it? The day that we finally see common courtesy becoming truly common is the day that we exhibit it ourselves and thus pass it on as a concept to others.
Common Courtesy Day is your opportunity to start being the change in the world you wish to see.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Courtesy, kindness, sincerity, truthfulness, thoughtfulness and good manners translated into behavior reflect one's true character.
Harry F. Banks
I woke up with the flu this morning and went back to bed where I’ve been all day.
In the busyness of life, people tend to forget the common courtesy they should use when dealing with other people. Courtesy is more than just saying please and thank you. It’s opening the door for others, letting people go first in line and taking a moment to show you care. It’s the kindness that shows through when someone needs a hand or a kind word. It’s giving an apology instead of excuses.
People who are kind and polite tend to find themselves being treated in kind and with more friends and admirers. The bottom line is: it pays to follow common courtesies. What goes around, comes around.
I’ve had quite a few visitors to my new home. Some of them are not at all the welcome kind. Just like the flu bug that came to see me, they are called pests. They particularly like to use my bathroom. I’ve tried to discouraging them from coming, but still they return and bring a long a few of their friends. I don’t for the like of me know what the attraction is, but I’m going to win this battle with these ants and hopefully they’ll know just where they are not wanted. The door is not open to ants and/or any other pests like spiders, flies, mosquitoes, or the flu. That would be taking being courteous to extremes. Ha!
Other than that visitors are welcome ! At least as soon as I get well enough. The snow is gone, warmer days are here and sunny days are coming !
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is French Bread Day. My favorite way to eat french bread is by making french bread pizzas. You simply slice the bread in half and then usually in thirds, make three pizzas. Spread on some sauce, sausage, cheese, pepperoni and maybe some onions, peppers and mushrooms and bake in the oven till cheese is melted then you have a really good pizza. I always save the extra wrapped in the fridge to have latter on.
Of course it makes some really good garlic bread too to have with pasta. Simply make a mixture of butter, garlic, parsley, Parmesan, and salt to taste and spread onto French bread, then bake until toasted and crispy.
COUNTING MY GIFTS

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart.
Solomon
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Hoping you are feeling better today, Ma. I am surprised the ants are out with the weather so cool.

I'm so sorry to hear the flu came visiting!!!
Those ants? We had a couple curious instances, but my SIL's recommendation shut them right down. I'm not one to use the term 'amazing' often, but Terro liquid is just that.
