ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Dentist's Day which is a day to display a big, toothy smile. After all, your Dentist plays a role in that big, bright smile. He's an important person in keeping your smile bright, and your teeth and mouth healthy.
This Dentist Day, consider that dentists aren’t the bad guys, that they’re real people too, and that you probably ought to take better care of your teeth. Hooray for dentists!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Effort is like toothpaste: you can usually squeeze out just a little bit more.

After a very busy weekend, I’m ready for a break, but that is not to be at my house. This is the week of the big move. That will actually take place on Saturday and Sunday, so this whole week will be all about getting ready. Thanks to all my helpers most all the packing is done, but there are still a few things that need doing.
I am still paring down the many bins of seasonal decorations and will be keeping the trash men busy with all that will be set on the curb for pick up this week. More donations will be made too as I give away what I managed to root out. I’m thinking Salvation Army is going to miss the influx of goods that have come from my house over the past few months.
I’m looking forward to the day all is done and I can relax and enjoy my very simplified life.
The long range forecast is showing snow for Saturday, so I’m hoping it won’t be much. March often surprises us. We’ll see...
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is Frozen Food Day which was actually inaugurated by US President Ronald Reagan in 1984! Nowadays frozen food is a lifeline to many busy cooks, whether it is used for certain ingredients, such as frozen vegetables or the whole dish. We all have days when we’re tired and having a full meal in the freezer is so much easier than actually having to cook!
My pots and pans are now packed so I know I’ll be eating out of the freezer this week and using my microwave or toaster oven to cook with. Thankfully I have some frozen leftovers to reheat.
No recipe to share today, but a reminder instead. Those leftovers can be easily frozen and reheated later on.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
A smile is so much more than just a show of teeth. A smile is a prelude to laughter. A smile is a spreader of joy. A smile is a messenger of peace. A smile is a sharer of happiness. A smile is a giver of love. Smiles help to heal the heart. Smiles help to nourish the soul. Smiles help to build a better world one grin at a time.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4717. for frozen food, quick to fix
4718. for dentists, they help make our smiles brighter
4719. for a new week, another chance to get it right
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I hope it doesn't snow for the move. I know you will be glad when this is all over. You have been hard at work with it for six months at least!

Gosh, it's really happening -- so soon! I can't help but share an old family game, "Gee, just last week at this time ..."
For some reason, recently DH and I were commenting on the arrival of frozen (TV) dinners and pot pies. I know they made my mother's life so much easier. We're certainly fortune to have witnessed all these 'firsts', aren't we?
Crossing my fingers for clear skies this weekend!
