ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Medal of Honor Day which is dedicated to all Medal of Honor recipients.
It was on March 25, 1863, when the first Medals of Honor were presented. Secretary of War, Edwin Stanton presented Medals of Honor to six members of Andrews Raiders for their volunteering and participation during an American Civil War raid in April of 1862.
Created in 1861, the Medal of Honor is the United States of America’s highest military honor. It is awarded only to US military personnel, by the President of the United States in the name of Congress, for personal acts of valor above and beyond the call of duty.
Since its creation, there have been 3,468 Medals of Honor awarded to the country’s soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and coast guardsmen

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes!
Maya Angelou
Words can hardly express our gratitude to the brave recipients of the Medal of Honor. These brave folks truly have gone above and beyond the expected. We should never forget the sacrifices that have been made by our military men and women.
I’m hoping that this Saturday will be one to get a lot done. My aim today is to try to get my patio room in some semblance of order. It’s supposed to be a rainy day so I thought the timing was right to work on that. It’s been full of things that really belong in other parts of the house, and I’m longing to get it ready for the warmer days to come. The patio table and chairs have been stored in my carport since there is no room for where they belong.
The rest of the house is coming along but far from being done. I just needed a change of venue.
We’ll see what I get done…
Today is also Confirmation Day for one of my beautiful Granddaughters. I’m unable to attend but am sending my congratulations and love to her on this very special day!
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is Waffle Day!
Waffles are more versatile than you might think: you can spin them sweet or savory, serve them as a sandwich, a dessert or a fruit topped breakfast.
You can get your sweet and savory all on one plate with this bacon and egg scramble served on a syrup drizzled waffle. Sometimes you just need something simple, but satisfying.
Sunrise Waffle Scramble
1 egg
1 slice cheese, your choice
1 frozen waffle, toasted
2 tsp. maple flavored or pancake syrup
2 slices cooked bacon
Beat egg in small microwaveable bowl sprayed with cooking spray. Stir in cubed cheese.
Microwave on HIGH 40 to 45 seconds or until egg is set and no visible liquid remains, stirring after 30 seconds.Top waffle with syrup, egg and bacon.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4759. for our brave men and women in the military
4760. for a patio room to enjoy in warm weather
4761. for our Angel on her special day
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Never thought of cooking an egg in the microwave. Have to try that sometime. Seems like you got a good project to keep you busy today, Ma. Hope the sunroom will be ready for when it is a sunny day.

I've tried doing eggs in the microwave, but they never turn out so good. (Maybe I'm missing the 'stirring' part?)
Your grand-girl is lovely! I'm guessing 13-14 y/o? 'Think I was 14 on my confirmation ... Palm Sunday MANY years ago. :)))
That sweet wreath on your sunroom door looks cheery and welcoming!
The Sunrise Waffle scramble sounds really good! I love my scrambled eggs in the microwave but not everyone agrees with me! Hope your Saturday is a good one! It is a dreary cold day here in Kansas
