ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
True love stories never have endings.
Richard Bach
This anniversary celebration is another long distance one but still I’ll be celebrating and wishing them the happiest of days. As usual a card went out in the mail with love.
I got to visit them, along with DS#2 and his family, this past fall for Thanksgiving and that is what the pictures are of today. I loved being able to spend time with all of them. As you can see by the pictures we did a lot of good eating.
Two weeks from today the final closing on the old house is supposed to happen. Meanwhile I continue to settle into my new home. I’ll be very happy when all is said and done.
We can’t complain about the weather with temps mostly in the 50’s. That is very good for us at the end of March. This coming Saturday April begins. Typically there are a lot of showers in our forecast.
I hope you all have a GREAT new week ahead. Happy Monday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is Something on a Stick Day which celebrates things on a stick. Food on a stick can be savory or sweet and can be served hot or cold.
The first thing that comes to mind is popsicles and fudgecicles. Hotdogs are poplar on a stick at campfires. There's also corndogs, and shrimp and many chinese treats. Cocktail wieners and cheese are picked and eaten on a stick/toothpick. You can also get just about anything on a stick when receiving food samples at a store or festival.
Kebabs are some of the most well known snacks that are cooked and or served on sticks.Kebabs are eaten around the world as a snack or as a main dish.
FIESTA BEEF KEBABS
1/2 c. catsup
1/2 pkg. onion soup mix
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. cooking oil
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
Dash of bottled hot pepper sauce
1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 lbs. beef top round steak, cut into 1 inch pieces
2 green or red sweet peppers
For marinade, combine first 9 ingredients and bring to a boil. Cover; simmer 20 minutes. Cool to room temperature. Add meat. Cover; refrigerate overnight. Turn meat occasionally. Drain beef. Reserve marinade. Cut peppers into 1 inch squares.
You can also add onions, mushrooms and new whole potatoes and add all vegetables to meat and marinate all together. Grill over medium hot coals to desired doneness. Allow about 15 minutes for rare. Baste kebabs with extra marinade.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Happy anniversary to DS#4 and his wife!! Wishing them much happiness today and always! I do hope the closing goes as expected for your house so you can not have that over your head any more. Those fiesta beef kabobs look delicious! We just made chicken ones yesterday, so will wait a few weeks and then try out this recipe.

Happy anniversary blessings to your son and DIL!
Love seeing all the smiling faces again ... particularly that shot from Rudy's BBQ. That's one of our favorite spots; we were just there Saturday!
