ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Purple Day which is a celebration aimed at raising worldwide awareness of epilepsy, a condition that affects over 65 million people globally.
Lavender is the international color for epilepsy and is also a color that symbolizes solitude and loneliness This led to purple being the color of choice for this celebration.
We are encouraged to wear purple today to show support for those with epilepsy and to raise awareness of epilepsy.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Sunday clears away the rust of the whole week.
Joseph Addison
I’ll be wearing purple today in support of one of my granddaughters who is affected by epilepsy. She is very dear to my heart.
It’s supposed to be a rainy Sunday here but the temps are holding in the 60’s. It’s looking like the week ahead will be mostly in the mid 50’s and lower 60’s too. Which is good for us this time of year.
It’s definitely going to be a day to rest and relax here for a change. After the busyness of moving, it’ll be a welcome relief for sure!
The week ahead will be another busy one with getting settled in here. I’m just taking it slow and easy. There’s no longer any reason to rush.
The pictures are of the lovely flowers that continue to delight me which were given a week ago when I first moved in my new home. They look just as fresh as they first did.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is Spinach Day!
Packed with nutrients such as Iron, Vitamin A and Calcium, spinach is known for being a healthy part of a balanced diet. One of my favorite ways to fix spinach is in a salad and this classic salad is worth having over and over.
Spinach Salad
8 strips bacon
3 to 4 tbsp. bacon drippings
4 tbsp. red wine vinegar
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. French mustard
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp white sugar
1 red onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
Sauté bacon until crisp; remove from pan. Drain on paper towels and crumble into small pieces. Pour off excess bacon drippings, leaving 3 to 4 tablespoons in pan.
Add remaining ingredients and let simmer until most of the foam disappears. Add bacon to mixture in pan; pour over fresh spinach leaves with a few slices of red onion.
Cover spinach until leaves are slightly wilted. Garnish with hard boiled eggs.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Gratitude is the best attitude.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4762. for a special day to make us aware of others needs
4763. for spinach, a super food for sure
4764. for a long awaited day just to rest
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Why, you would never guess, I am going to make a Spinach Quiche today!
I will be like PopEye and will be strong to the finish!
xx
Your carnations have kept so beautifully! That's probably the reason they're my favorites.
I do love spinach ... fresh, or in a can. This recipe sounds delicious!
I love the color purple. I love your flowers. Alstromerias are my favorite and they will last for up to 2 weeks. That is what I buy when I am treating myself. Happy Sunday!
