ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

16 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
Sunrise: 6:56 am
Sunset: 6:24 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Namesake Day. The world has a long tradition of naming people after other people, most often our parents or grandparents, but sometimes aunts and uncles, or even just famous people for whom your parents hold in high regard. It’s always good to know your roots and where you come from, and your namesake is part of that heritage.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
From our ancestors come our names, but from our virtues our honors.
Proverb
The story of where my name came from has little to do with my heritage. When I was born my mom named me after one of the characters in one of her favorite radio shows. In those days there weren’t many TVs and people would listen to radio shows similar to the daytime soap operas we have today.
Today several of my children are coming in to help finish up the packing here. By the end of the week I should be ready to go. Ready or not I’m moving next weekend . One way or the other.
Yesterday I also had some help. My youngest sister and two of my sons and DD were here and a lot got done. I am very thankful for all the help.
It’s hard to believe that one week from today is also the beginning of Daylight Savings Time. March 12th at 2:00 AM we will be springing forward one hour. Most of us set our clocks ahead the night before, but there is always a few that forget. With modern technology being what it is, the time on my phone will automatically change and I’m thinking that is a good thing.
It won’t be the usual day of rest for me here at my house but it will be good to put a dent in the packing.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Cheese Doodle Day! Cheese doodles are a snack food made with cornmeal that has been puffed, baked, and coated with cheddar cheese. Cheese doodles are also known as cheese puffs, cheese curls, cheese balls, cheese poofs, cheesy poofs or sometimes corn cheese. They are made by a mixture of hot corn through a shaper and then dusted with that distinctive cheese flavoring.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Gratitude turns what we have into enough.
Author Unknown
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4714. for my name, I’m mostly known as ‘ma'
4715. for longer daylight hours
4716. for helpers, you are all appreciated
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.

Oh, I love Cheese Doodles and I miss them Pam! They have something similar, but not the same. I was named after my Paternal Grandmother. I have three names, and my third name came from an old girlfriend of my father's whose name both my parents liked. Go figure! I wish you great luck with the move. They say the two most stressful things in life are changing jobs and moving! I am praying you into your new home with no problems! xoxo
What a cute selfie, Ma .... hi there!
I used to (secretly) think my parents were the most UNimaginative people in the world for naming me "Myra Evelyn" after my mother, "Evelyn Myra." (ergo, Mevely) Now, I sort of like it.
Those rooster towels are so stinkin' cute! I can't think of the name to save my life right now, but I've one of those whisk/blender thingies (hanging behind your strainer) that used to belong to my grandmother. Perhaps there's something I can do with it, as well.
How cute the story behind your name, Ma. I bet you will be glad when all is packed up in boxes!
