ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Puppy Day, which celebrates puppies! It is a special day to recognize the unconditional love puppies give us, and the joy they bring into our lives. It should come as no surprise, that one of the goals of National Puppy Day, is to encourage us to adopt orphaned puppies.
They’re fluffy and playful, they yip and bark and are just all around adorable, and all they want is to be loved.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Happiness is laughter... and a warm puppy.
Charles Shultz
There is probably nothing cuter than a little puppy but they do grow up fast and that is when far too many people decide they really didn’t want a dog at all and the pounds and rescue shelters are full of unwanted bundles of fluff just waiting for a loving home.
I’ve had many dogs over the years and loved the companionship, but these days I only enjoy the many grand pups I have. I get the benefits without any of the work. Ha!
It seems this week is flying by. Here we are on the down hill slide to the weekend already. I pretty much missed out on a couple days with having the flu, but woke up this morning feeling pretty normal and hungry too so that is a good sign that things are improving.
We’re are down in the 20’s right now but they say we’ll warm up to 50 today. What a treat!
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
National Chip and Dip Day celebrates America's favorite snack duet. If you re holding a party, it is almost certain that chips and dips are on the snack list. Whether you prefer tortilla chips, potato chips, or corn chips, there are dozens of dips to complement your snack of choice.
Todays recipe is for a classic dip and the one I usually have with potato chips.
Homemade French Onion Dip
1 cup Sour Cream
1 Tablespoon Dried Chopped Onion
1 teaspoon Onion Powder
1 pinch Garlic Powder
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1 Tablespoon Finely Chopped Fresh Parsley,
Or 1 Teaspoon Dried Parsley
Place sour cream in a small bowl. Add dried onion, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and parsley. Mix together very well until completely uniform. Taste with a chip and adjust seasonings if necessary.
Refrigerate for 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the dried onion to soften. Store in the refrigerator for 5 to 7 days.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
For today and its blessings, I owe the world an attitude of gratitude.
Clarence E. Hodges
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4753. for puppies, little bundles of love
4754. for chips, one of my favorite snacks
4755. for the end of the flu and the ants too, I haven’t seen one for over a day now
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

The people across the street got a puppy a few months ago. I have enjoyed watching them play with it as I am working. Glad to hear you are feeling better!

Lots of cute puppy pictures! Good to hear you are doing better!
So glad to hear you're feeling better, Ma!
Yum, on that dip. Like soup, it sounds like it becomes tastier with age. (Ha!)
I doubt we'd be 'canine parents' at this stage of our lives, had Tom not been diagnosed with lung cancer in '13. At the urging of well-meaning friends, we adopted Macie and Grace - and I swear, they were more than instrumental in Tom's recovery. (Just try and retreat into a cave of depression when you've two squirming balls of fluff crawling all over you and bathing you in kisses!) Love the photos of your grand-pups!
So sorry you have been visited with the flu in your new home Pam! I have had the same thing this week, despite having had a flu shot. I've been trying really hard to not pass it to my husband as he has no immunity at the moment due to his cancer treatments. I am glad that you are feeling better and I am happy to say that I am also feeling better today also! In fact I might even go to the shops today! I don't know where we would be without our little Mitzie. We love her so much. Enjoyed the photos of all the pups in your life and of course that dip sounds fabulous! Love all that you share Pam! God bless and have a happy weekend! xoxo
