The first Wednesday in April is National Walking Day. The American Heart Association sponsors this day to remind people about the health benefits of taking a walk. The simplest change you can make to improve your heart health is to start walking. It’s fun, free, easy, social and great exercise. A walking program is flexible and can be done just about anywhere. It’s easy to make walking a regular and satisfying part of your life.
Take the first step to a healthier life by taking part in the American Heart Association’s National Walking Day today, the first Wednesday in April.

It seems like we’ve had a lot of holidays lately that celebrate walking. We had Take a Walk in the Park Day and Walk Around Things Day. Walking is a good way to get exercise and relieve stress. Walking is good for us in so many different ways.
It’s recommended that we get in 30 minutes a day but it’s good to remember that something is always better than nothing! These days, we’re spending more time at work and at home, sitting in front of a screen than ever before. We’re becoming less active, which can increase our risk of heart disease, stroke and other diseases.
For such a simple activity, walking has many benefits. It can reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes, improve your blood pressure, blood sugar and blood cholesterol levels. It can also improve your mental well being, improve sleep and it increases your energy and stamina.
I can tell you that if you don’t use it, you loose it, I walk a whole lot slower than I used to.
They say that today could be a little warmer for us but rain is coming our way. More cold and possibly snow could be coming though before this week is over. I think this must be a month full of April Fools days.

How funny with the weather that in winter there wasn't that much snow and now in spring you seem to be getting more of it. Tipsy turvy for sure :)
Always a good benefit to walk. Got out of the habit of taking a 30 minute walk daily, so need to start again and build it up. You are right, if you don't use it, you will lose it.
