61 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER
Sunrise: 6:40 am

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Volunteer Recognition Day which honors the legions of volunteers who dedicate themselves to causes and helping others. They are making big and small differences in the lives of millions of people all over the world. They are saving lives. They are improving lives and providing comfort. They assist people, animals, and nature.
Most volunteers do not ask for recognition. They just want to help and to give back where they can.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless.
Sherry Anderson
My days of volunteering are now over for the most part. These days I volunteer my babysitting services more than anything else that I could do. I watch the grand babes and the grand dogs. I used to do a lot more. In the past I volunteered with the scouts, at church, at school, and our youth group for many years. One thing I learned is that volunteering is a very rewarding thing. It blesses those we help and in return we are blessed.
They say that today is also National Cheddar Fries Day so I had to look to see if I could find a recipe to share. This easy to do recipe is what I came up with.
3 slices bacon
1 package frozen French fries
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Ranch dressing
Place bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain bacon slices on paper towels; crumble.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place a piece of aluminum foil over a baking sheet; spread fries in a single layer on baking sheet.
Bake in preheated oven until golden brown and crisp, 15 to 20 minutes.
Preheat broiler. Sprinkle fries with cheese and crumbled bacon. Broil until cheese is melted, 1 to 2 minutes. Serve with Ranch dressing.
Sounds like a meal to me !
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Volunteers
Many will be shocked to find,
When the day of judgement nears,
That there's a special place in Heaven
Set aside for volunteers.
Furnished with big recliners,
Satin Couches and footstools,
Where ther are no committee chairmen,
Nor yard sale or rest area coffee to serve.
No library duty or bulletin assembly,
There will be nothing to print and staple.
Not one thing to fold and mail,
Telephone lists will be outlawed.
But a finger snap will bring
Cool drinks and gourmet dinners
And rare treats fit for a king.
You ask,
Who'll serve these privileged few
And work for all the're worth?
Why, all those who reaped the benifits,
And not once volunteered on Earth

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3787. For volunteers, they do a lot of good
3788. for cheese, good any way you slice it
3789. Potatoes, they can be served so many different ways
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

This is so funny... I'm on my way over to the Ag Hall this morning to sweep out two more buildings to get ready for our opening this weekend!
That recipe for those fries! Yum!!!!
I haven't volunteered in about a year; I need to get back into it. It is always fun and fulfilling and like you, I did a lot of volunteering with the kids in school and at church with this and that. Without volunteers, a lot of things wouldn't be able to be done.
betty
love your advice
