If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A penny saved is a penny earned.
Benjamin Franklin
My first experience with saving money was with my Piggy Bank. I still have it and it is full of pennies for the most part. It’s always wise to save for a rainy day. Without fail, it has seemed that if I have any money saved, something will happen so I’ll need to spend it. It never stays in the bank long at all. On the bright side, I did have the money saved when it was needed.
Being a parent means that we are teachers. We try to teach our children right from wrong and the best way to live. So teaching them about saving is part of that too. It starts small and hopefully leads to bigger and better things. Saving up for something they want instead of just handing them whatever they want is the better way to go.
It’s looking like it will be a beautiful day here in Ohio. As usual, I’m enjoying a good cup of coffee and slowly waking up here and will be off to church a little later on.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is Pig in a Blanket Day which is a day to eat a sausage wrapped in a pancake. That's what Pig in a Blanket is.
Somebody, somewhere decided that this was a very special treat to them. So, they created a special day to celebrate this culinary delight.
To celebrate Pig in a Blanket Day just cook up some sausage. Make some pancakes. Wrap the sausage inside of the pancake. Add maple syrup. Then, chow down.
I’m having my version of Pigs in a Blanket this morning, but the ones I made used crescent rolls instead of a pancake.
1 package Breakfast Sausage Links
1 container refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
Maple syrup, honey, jam or preserves, optional
Prepare sausage links according to package directions. Drain and set aside. Separate dough into triangles. Place one cooked sausage link onto the wide end of each dough triangle. Roll up each triangle and place on an ungreased baking sheet point side down. Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes. You can serve hot with maple syrup, honey, jam or preserves. I enjoyed mine just as they were.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Whatever happens, give thanks…
Thessalonians 5:16-18
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3799. for savings it’s there when I need it
3800. for sausage, mmmm good
3801. for the things money can’t buy, faith, family and friends
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
It’s good to have money and the things money can buy, but it’s good, too, to check up once in a while and make sure that you haven’t lost the things that money can’t buy.
George Horace Lorimer
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Hubby enjoys making those 'piggies' in crescent rolls, as well ... usually at supper, dipped in mayo and mustard sauce. Yummm!
Personally, I tend to most appreciate those things for which I was compelled to save.
It is good to learn how to save earlier in life than later; makes it easier if the lessons are started out with a little money and then increased as earnings increase. There will always be those rainy days when we need that savings we put aside indeed.
betty
Gotta love pigs in a blanket! AND a whole day just for them! :-)
enjoy your week
One of my first piggie banks was a black plastic pig with red flowers on it. It was taped together with masking tape eventually because I wore it out! Saving for a rainy day is only good sense. The sun will not always shine and when it rains we need to be prepared. Have a fabulous week! Thanks for all that you so generously share with us each day! You're a star! xo
