Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
It’s National Pretzel Day! Centuries ago, monks created the first pretzels from scraps of leftover dough. The unique knot shape represented the Holy Trinity and also signified folded hands during prayers.., but the significance of this symbol has evolved over the course of history. During the 17th century, pretzels symbolized the bond of marriage. This is where the phrase 'tying the knot' originated! Today, traditional soft pretzels are popular at sporting events, carnivals, and festivals.
Hard pretzels are a fairly new invention compared to the original soft pretzels. According to legend, in the late 1600s a Pennsylvania baker forgot a batch of pretzels in the oven. The over baked treats were dark and hard, but the baker sampled one anyway. He was pleasantly surprised by the crunchy deliciousness. Hard pretzels are now one of the most popular snack foods.
To celebrate National Pretzel Day, pick up a bag of your favorite type of pretzels to enjoy today!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Prayer changes everything...
It always amazes me how it’s the simple things that are most likely to be the best, just like the simple pretzel is a reminder to pray. Prayer is a good way to start and end your day. Always say a prayer.
ASAP
There's work to do, deadlines to meet;
you've got no time to spare.
But as you hurry and scurry,
Always Say A Prayer.
In the midst of family chaos,
quality time is rare.
Do your best, let God do the rest,
And Always Say A Prayer
It may seem like your worries
are more than you can bear;
Slow down, take a breath,
And Always Say A Prayer.
God knows how stressful life is;
He wants to ease your care,
And He'll respond A.S.A.P.
When you Always Say A Prayer.

WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
In honor of Pretzel Day I found this yummy snack recipe to try out.
Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels
3/4 of a 16 oz bag pretzel twists
1 stick butter, melted
½ cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Pour pretzels into a roasting pan. In a medium sized bowl mix together melted butter, cinnamon and sugar. Pour over pretzels and stir to coat. Place in oven and bake for 30 minutes, removing twice to stir.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God
Philippians 4:6
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3805. for pretzels, sweet or salty they are good

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Prayer should be our first response rather than our last resort.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma
