April 13th is Scrabble Day which celebrates the popular board game. It's been popular around the world ever since. People young and old enjoy this game.
Scrabble was created in 1938 by Alfred Mosher Butts. It is sold by Hasbro, Inc.
It's very easy to celebrate Scrabble Day. Just get out the old board game, dust it off, and play a few rounds with family or friends.
Did you know that if you played the word Oxyphenbutazone in your next game of scrabble, you will make 1458 points as calculated by a Dan Stock of Ohio? Oxyphenbutazone is a medication used to treat arthritis and is the highest scoring single play word in scrabble.
April 13th is also National Bookmobile Day and National Peach Cobbler Day
April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month and National Grilled Cheese Month
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Before you speak, THINK…
T - is it True?
H - is it Helpful?
I - is it Inspiring?
N - is it Necessary?
K - is it Kind?
If you’ve ever played the game Scrabble, you know that it’s a game where we build words out of letters. Words are so important in our lives. There are good ones and bad ones, Words can lift you up or tear you down. Words, whether written or spoken or signed, can make life more meaningful.
There’s an old adage that says: Think before you speak. If you think before you speak your words may be more thoughtful.
Speaking before you speak is often known as the Foot In Mouth Syndrome. I’ve been there and done that. I’ve said something before really thinking about it and then wished I hadn’t.
Looking at our weather forecast through the end of the week, I’m seeing a lot of sunshine in store for us. I for one surely do need it. Hopefully, I’ll be getting outside a bit to enjoy it.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday !
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
Abraham Lincoln
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Thankfulness is the beginning of gratitude. Gratitude is the completion of thankfulness. Thankfulness may consist merely of words. Gratitude is shown in acts.
Henri Frederic Amiel
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3766. for the kinds words of others
3767. for my hearing and the time to listen and enjoy every word.
3768. for God’s Word, where He communicates His love to us
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Try to make at least one person happy every day. If you cannot do a kind deed, speak a kind word. If you cannot speak a kind word, think a kind thought. Count up, if you can, the treasure of happiness that you would dispense in a week, in a year, in a lifetime!
Lawrence G. Lovesick
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Can you imagine making that word and getting all those points? Of course it would be something that would be built on since only 7 letters are available at a time to use. I do like Scrabble; it is a fun game to play.
So true with our words; we must be very careful choosing the ones we will use. They can be helpful, but at times can be hurtful.
betty
bless you dear
