Celebrated each year on April 8th, it is National All Is Ours Day.  The meaning of this day is looked at in different ways.

Today can be looked at as a time to reflect on all of the beauty of nature and all the wonderful things in life and that they belong to everyone.  Become aware of all of the beauty in your surroundings.  All of these spectacular gifts that we have been given are shared by all.

Another way to view National All Is Ours Day is to appreciate everything that we have and do not dwell on what we do not have.  All that we have is a blessing and our lives are a blessing and it is ours, therefore, all is ours!

When I think about it, I really do have everything I need.  Contentment means my happiness is not dependent upon circumstances.  Most people get caught in ‘when’ thinking.  When I get such and such, then I'll be happy.  When I get to a certain level economically, When I get a certain job, When I can retire, then I'll be happy.  When I get the house paid off, When I get the bills paid off, then!   If you don't learn contentment, you'll never be happy. You'll always want more.  Remember, your happiness is not reliant on the acquisition of any possession. Your happiness is based solely on your decision to be happy, and this may be one of the most important life lessons you can ever learn.

Learning to be thankful for all you have rather than crying about what you don’t have is the only way I know to be truly content. It is impossible to develop contentment without gratitude,  they are inseparable. And a grateful person is one who has learned to focus on the good things in their life, not the things that they lack. 

The weather man says that before this day ends we could be seeing 3 - 5 inches of snow on the ground here in northern Ohio.  April isn’t done trying to fool us it seems.  The good news is that we know it won’t be long now until warmer weather returns.

The pictures today are from a card I got last year from DS#6 for Mother’s Day.  I keep it handy to remind me that it is a wonderful world.

Life is too short to be anything but content.  Be grateful for what you have !

3751. for a world full of beauty, it’s there if we look

3752. for Spring, even though it doesn’t feel like it right now

3753. for my furnace, it’s still working and keeping the house warm

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

  

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

 

Almighty and eternal God,

Protect our military

as they discharge their duties

with the shield of your strength,

may the power of your love

enable them to return home in safety

that with all who love them

they may ever praise you for your loving care.

AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters

and Paramedics and EMT’s

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
