ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
THURSDAY DECEMBER 30TH, 2021
The moments our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Bicarbonate of Soda Day which celebrates baking soda that is used in baking, cooking, deoodorizing, cleaning, polishing, and countless other applicaations.
Ancient Egyptians used natural deposits of sodium bicarbonate as a cleansing agent like soap, but it wasn’t until `1771 that French chemist Nicolas LeBlanc produced sodium bircabonate in its modern form. In 1846, two New York bakers named John Dwight and Austin Church established the first factory to manufacture baking soda.
Baking soda is a white, odorless, crystalline solid that is completely soluble in water. It is very useful around the home, the kitchen and for medical purposes. Baking soda can even be used as an antacid to treat indigestion and heartburn.
It certainly deserves a whole day of celebration for all that it does!
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
One half cup of cool water and one half teaspoon of baking soda is the recommended dosage for stomach upsets.

Baking soda is definitely a staple here in my pantry. It has so many uses. I used for baking and for cleaning too. Nothing will make you fridge so fresh as having a box of baking soda sitting in it.
I’ve never had to use it for indigestion, but they say it can definitely help. Thankfully, I rarely get indigestion. Nothing seems to bother my stomach and that is why I’m probably as plump as I am. I love to eat and nothing bothers me.
I’m going out to do my shopping today, as I had a haircut and lunch with DD and her family yesterday! It was a really nice day ! We are in the mid 40’s so it isn’t bad at all outside.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
If baking is any labor at all, it’s a labor of love. A love that gets passed on from generation to generation.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
9847. for baking soda and all its many uses.
9848. for family that took me out to eat 2 days in a row
9849. for time spent with family, it’s always the best !

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Sure you can mix the flour, baking soda, salt and shortening, and the whole nine yards, but why wouldn’t you just pull out a box of Bisquick?

A bit of love from someone dear…

Always keep a box of baking soda on hand. It has so many different uses !
A couple months back I nearly panicked, thinking I had no baking soda with which to make my nut bread. Of course, plain as day, it was sitting in the refrigerator right where I'd put it months earlier.
My father used it all the time for indigestion.
