ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 25TH, 2021
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Chili Day. Whether you prefer Texas style, Mexican style, or vegetarian, chile served with a side of cornbread is a fabulous comfort food for the winter season.
Despite popular belief, chili does not come from Mexico. The recipe has been influenced by Mexican culture, but it also incorporates elements from native American and Spanish culinary traditions. Many historians believe chili originated in Texas where all three of them cultures intersect.
According to legend, Spanish priests call the first chili soup of the Devil. because they believed that chili peppers were an aphrodisiac. To celebrate today, include a delicious historical spicy stew.
Today is also Chocolate Covered Nuts Day.
If you can’’t see the bright side, polhish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Any man who eats Chili and Cornbread can’t be all bad.
Carroll Shelby
I do love chili and often fix cornbread to eat along with a bowl of it but on the menu for today I have leftover pork chops instead.
It’s my day to go out for my monthly hair cut and I really won’t have time to cook so having leftovers on hand is good for me.
These days are going by so fast I can hardly believe a month has passed already but my hair says it’s time for a hair cut. When you wear it short all the time, a little growth makes a big difference. It’s not behaving as it should and my bangs are hanging in my eyes.
DD will be picking me up and taking me along with her as she also has an appointment and it will be good to get to spend some time with her too.
The temps are colder but should reach above freezing and sunny so it’s going to be a great day to get out and about. It’s so nice to be above freezing and seeing all the snow melt.
I hope you all have a GREAT day! Happy Thursday!

Have a great day everyone. Celebrate !
I'll take the chocolate covered nuts instead of the chili for today. Enjoy your day out Ma!
Yes, I 'get' what you're saying about needing to keep our short hair cut regularly. One day it feels fine, then the next morning .... oops!
Because Tom doesn't love chili the way I do, we usually just break open a couple cans of Hormel. I like mine mixed with scrambled eggs and topped with shredded cheese. Back in my younger days there was a popular restaurant that served that with Texas toast in the early morning hours after the clubs closed.
