8 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
92 DAYS UNTIL SPRING!

If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Matthew 2: 7-8
Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I've learned that you can tell a lot a person by the way he or she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas lights.
Maya Angelou
Old King Herod must have felt very threatened as he heard about the birth of a King that would rule the world. That makes me think about the things that threaten my world. Things that could happen to change my life.
It often seems that just about the time we get settled into a way of life things will often happen to change that. We often get a little scared when the unknown is ahead of us.
Unlike Herod, though I’ve found the best way to look at life is to accept the changes and handle them the best way we can. There is no use to try and fight them. We just move on and make do the best way we can. I know that what ever happens I can trust in the Lord to provide what ever may be needed. That is what the story of Christmas is all about. We were given a great gift!
This week is moving right along. Tonight I’ll be going to the last dulcimer get together for this year. We’ll be playing our Christmas songs and as always enjoying a good laugh or two. Now for the rest of the winter months we’ll take a break and then come April will resume again. The winter weather just gets to temperamental so we forgo our musical nights until Spring comes.
Decembers full moon will be in the sky tonight. The Full Cold Moon is aptly named as it’s the time of year when the winter cold fastens its grip and the nights become long and dark. This full Moon is also called the Long Nights Moon by some Native American tribes
We have a little more new snow and may get some more so it may be too cloudy to see it, but it is there..
Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!

I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

MA... your post is right on it today... and it's sad that we see so little on blogs about the Reason for the Season.
Hope you enjoyed your dulcimer get together! I did see the full moon tonight, it was gorgeous here. So right Ma to get to learn to take things as they come and try to realize God is totally in control, no matter what we may be going through.
