8 DAYS UNTIL WINTER
12 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Sunrise:7:46 am
Sunset:4:59 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength.
Isaiah 40:31
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
But it was always the waiting that was the most fun.

Waiting is part of Advent. We are waiting and preparing for Christmas. God has given each of us seasons of waiting and days of anticipation.
Despite the incessant rush of our lives and the world around us, there are still moments when things come to a halt, when all that we can do is done and we must wait. I read this very nice explanation of waiting the other day in one of my morning devotionals, so I’m sharing it with you today.
In our waiting, then, we wrap ourselves around the Lord and He wraps Himself around us. When discouraging forces pull at us, we are not pulled apart. Instead, like strands of a rope, we and the Lord are pulled more tightly together and grow in strength. We never come to the end of our rope because the Lord has roped us tightly into His presence.
It looks as though we are in for some snow later today. We are going to see the effects of what is known as a Panhandle Hook and it often brings us our heaviest snows. I’m not sure just how much we’ll get, but no matter, I’ll be here at home snug as a bug in a rug.
Hope you have a fantastic Friday the 13th. Be safe and keep warm!!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
Joseph Campbell
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1217. for jelly donuts this morning
1218. for a good hot cup of Spicy Eggnog flavored coffee
1219.for the Christmas cards I’ve received in the mail
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
We spend a great deal of time telling God what we think should be done, and not enough time waiting in the stillness for God to tell us what to do.
Peace Pilgrim
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

You are so right about our impatience in waiting on the Lord's answers. I am trying harder to be better. I can't believe Christmas is almost upon us! The weeks are just whizzing by! Love your little photos and thoughts. You have some lovely decorations! Have a wonderful day! xxoo
Another good one, MA!
I like how you wrote, Ma, about the rope and how the Lord has roped up tightly in his presence. That is a good word picture to carry with us through times of trouble!
Hope you don't get too much snow! Have seen some reports of the snow from various storms. Good thing you're snug as a bug!

I have enjoyed Friday the 13th. I got out a few hours to get my nails done and it was so relaxing. Your post was another good one that made my day. Take care and enjoy the pretty white snow.
