If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria. And everyone went to their own town to register.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
For man plans , but God arranges.
Thomas À Kempis
If you’ve not notice this week Venus is really shining in the Sky. It’s been cloudy here so we’ve not seen much of it at all. It will reach its greatest illumination today, December 6th, St. Nicholas Day. It’s usually the brightest star in the sky, next to the moon. It is often know as the Evening star because it is the brightest star in the sky and come out just after sunset. It reminds me of the Christmas star that was seen in the sky so many years ago and led the Wise men to baby Jesus
I have many fond memories of St Nick’s Day when my children were small. They’d set out their shoes by the fireplace in hopes of some small sweet treats left by St. Nicholas.
Here at my house, I’m still working away at my Christmas crafting. At this point I’ve accepted the fact that not as much will get done as I’d hoped. But there have been a few other things that have taken priority with my time these past few weeks. Christmas will come no matter.
Joseph and his pregnant wife, Mary, were required to travel to Bethlehem so they could be counted. Talk about a hassle and an inconvenience. I seriously doubt, Mary or Joseph either one thought or planned on Jesus being born in Bethlehem nine months prior when the angel Gabriel appeared to them. God had other plans,
It’s that way with us too, we can make all the plans we want but when it comes right down to it, we are not the ones in control. Most of the time I’m thankful for it too. Not all of my plans are for the best, but God will often allow circumstances to take place in our lives to cause us to be in the place where He can perform a miracle.
The heart of this season is all about expectant hope. So, we begin our Advent journey by giving ourselves some time to reflect this week on how much God promises us.
I hope you all have a fantastic Friday! Be flexible!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
To everything there is a season, and time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Ecclesiastics 3
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their

your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
You are young at any age if you are planning for tomorrow.

I have noticed Venus was out and about so to speak. Surely shining bright here in the sky at night by the moon. It is good to be flexible in our plans, sometimes we can't with work schedules etc., but it is good to try to see what God might have in store for us if we are willing to alter what we thought we wanted.
