4 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
88 DAYS UNTIL SPRING!
Sunrise:7:52 am
Sunset: 5:03 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Matthew 2:14
So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: Out of Egypt I called my son.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.
Charles Dickens
Jesus' miraculous escape here should not lead us to overlook the nature of his deliverance . God protected Jesus and his family survived, but they survived as refugees, abandoning any livelihood Joseph may have developed in Bethlehem and undoubtedly traveling lightly. Although travel within Egypt was easy for visitors with means, many Judeans had traditionally regarded refuge in Egypt as a last resort .
Many of us have turned to God, under pressure and as a last resort. Praying for what seems hopeless at times. It’s good to remember during Advent and at all other times too. God is with us all the time.
I had a wonderful celebration with my family yesterday and want to say how thankful I am for all the wonderful gifts I received. Some were expected as I had ask for them and some were total surprises. All were appreciated.
The best gift of all was the opportunity to spend time with family and I’m especially thankful for that.
Our rain is expected to continue for a while yet today and then it will turn colder once more. There is a small chance for snow going into Monday and Tuesday, so don’t give up on the hopes for a white Christmas yet.
I’ve a few days now to just relax and reflect on Christmas and all it’s beauty. It’ll be much quieter here now for a few days.
Hope you all have a relaxing and restful Sunday there at your house.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love!
Hamilton Wright Mabie
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1244. for our dear Lord's protection all the time
1245. for the gift of family
1246. for peace filled days ahead
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
Christmas is not as much about opening our presents as opening our hearts.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I have put the baking things away, what's not baked is now unbaked. I have gotten the presents sorted out, and we'll deliver cookies and presents the next two days. Then after church on Christmas, one last visit and home to relax. Why is Christmas so ... wearing? It shouldn't be!
Love the little picture of your grandson on the rocking horse Pam! Sounds like you had a lovely time together with your family. I miss that being so far away. We will not be having any snow for Christmas this year, just lots of rain. Nothing changes! Happy Christmas Pam! xxoo
