If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Matthew 2: 1-2
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Wise men still seek Him today.
Dan Bell
Someone once estimated that we each spend at least one year of our lives searching for lost things. We find ourselves searching for things like peace, happiness, and satisfaction.
Take from one who has spent more time in the research department than anyone I know, my searches are nothing compared to search of the Wise Men. For years they had prepared and searched for the sign that would signify the birth of the Messiah.
We would be wise indeed if we would follow the example of these wise men. It makes me wonder how many others must have seen the star and didn’t recognize its importance. Advent should be about seeking. It is a season of anticipation, yearning and longing for a different kind of life and a different kind of world.
The story of the Wise Men begins with a journey just as we are journeying through Advent. Sometimes I put the figures of the Wise Men from my Nativity set on different shelves around the room and move them in closer and closer as I count down the days to Christmas. A good reminder for me…
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7
The pictures today are of some of my grandsons modeling a Santa hat last Christmas. Aren’t they adorable?
More snow here! Take good care everyone ! Keep safe and warm!
Hope you have a SUPER Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The star that led the Wise Men then still shines to guide the hearts of men.
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1220. for the story of the Wise Men
1221. for the gift of giving
1222. for the hope and peace that Christmas brings
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.

A bit of love from someone dear…

Love the pictures of your little grandson he is so precious.
Your grandsons were adorable modeling that hat! I too wonder about what others thought of that star that shone after Jesus' birth, if they were curious about it, indifferent about it, what? I'm sure it was a beautiful site to see!
