6 DAYS UNTIL WINTER
10 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
94 DAYS UNTIL SPRING!
Sunrise:7:47 am
Sunset: 5:00 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;
let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
let the field exult, and everything in it!
Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy
before the Lord, for he comes,
for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness,
and the peoples in his faithfulness.
Psalm 96:11-13
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree. In the eyes of children, they are all thirty feel tall.
Larry Wilde
The verse today isn’t part of the Christmas story, as told in Luke and Mark, but it talks about the trees in the forest singing for joy. And this time of year we decorate our Christmas trees as part of our preparation. I like to think these decorated trees show our joy for the celebration of the birth of Jesus.
Perhaps trees, whether they be the snow covered ones outdoors or the decorated ones inside serve to remind us that we are to be a joy filled people. Part of our Christmas preparation should be about joyfully doing good for others: giving gifts to those we love, offering charity to those in need, sending messages to people we don’t always see but still care about, baking a pie for a neighbor or singing carols for total strangers.
The message of the Christmas tree is that life stays evergreen
Here at home it’s a good day to stay in and keep warm. My little Christmas trees scattered though out the house will sparkle and shine. It’s cold out but warm inside. We probably got a half foot of snow yesterday. Thankfully, my next door sister was out with her snow blower so no shoveling was done here.
I hope you all have a restful and relaxing Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver.
Martin Luther
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1223. for ever green trees
1224. for shining lights that brighten up a dark day
1225. for my balsam and fir scented candle
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
Remember, if Christmas isn't found in your heart, you won't find it under the tree.
Charlotte Carpenter
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

Snow does look pretty Ma! Glad you didn't have to shovel any of it too! I do agree that our Christmas prepation should be joyfully done and include doing things for people who might not be routinely on our list! I'll have to think of doing something special for someone like that indeed!
