16 DAYS UNTIL WINTER
20 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Sunrise:7:40 am
Sunset:4:59 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.
Anatole France
It is important to remember that the coming of Jesus into the world was prophesied well before his coming. The prophet said it at least 600 years before Jesus was born. So part of the Christmas story is remembering that what was hoped for, was fulfilled. Hope for a King to come and save the people.
We all have hopes and dreams and at this time of year, many of us are hoping that we get everything done and ready for Christmas. All people of faith have at times prayed for what they knew was impossible. We cannot help ourselves. We long, we dream, we hope, we strive because that is how God created us.
I have dreams that our family Christmas celebration will be very special for those in my family. Not just the gifts that they will share but that they will all just enjoy being together. Not all of my family will be present then, they’ll be celebrating with their own families far away. The important thing is that they know the true meaning of Christmas and that no matter how far away or near, we’ll all remember the reason for the season.
We’ve been enjoying a few warmer days here this week but now the forecast once again says it’ll get colder and we’ll have chances of snow through the weekend. Bundle up everyone. Keep safe and keep warm.
I hope you have a great Thursday! May our faith and hopes give us energy for the coming days!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.
Burton Hillis
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1193. for promises fulfilled
1194. for hopes that give us a reason to keep going
1195. for sunbeams shining through the kitchen window
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
When we recall Christmas past, we usually find that the simplest things - not the great occasions - give off the greatest glow of happiness.
Bob Hope
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

No thunderheads on the ridge today...but, we are getting an ice storm this weekend...yikes..!!Enjoy your Thursday...
It feels like summer here today with the temperature 78. I wish it would stay cold more than two days. We have the air on instead of the heat. Lol.
So true to always remember the reason for the season and also so true about our dreams. I know whoever is at your family celebration for Christmas, Ma, you will make it a grand one!
