5 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
89 DAYS UNTIL SPRING!

If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Matthew 2: 13
When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. Get up, he said, take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
You will find the road to Christmas
Where your hopes and dreams come true,
And your heart will know the magic
That the season brings to you.
Garnett Ann Schultz
Thankfully the angel warned Joseph about the impending danger. He was given a warning just in the nick of time.
How truly precious the creation of life is and the joy that comes to parents when they are first made aware that they are with child. Is there anything greater for the couple than the birth of their child and to experience the miracle of creation? As we head into these last few days before Christmas let us keep our focus not only on the power of prayer but on the miracle of creation.
May we all experience new hope just as Joseph had. On those days when life seems uncertain, remember that God is with you to help you. When you celebrate a success in life, remember that he is with you to celebrate with you. And when things are going smoothly, remember that God is with you to guide you and protect you
I’m finally ready to wrap up Christmas. I have a couple of sons that live out of state and today is the last day the post office says to get those packages in the mail if you want them to arrive in time for Christmas. Mine were sent yesterday. I do hope they make it in time. I had almost given up on mailing out anything as the cost is pretty high, but since most of what I give is handmade, I pretty much have to put a gift in the mail.
Tomorrow is our family celebration and the weather forecast is calling for rain. Please join me in praying for safe travels for all. The snow maybe gone, but wet roads can sometimes be pretty tricky too.
I hope you all have a fantastic Friday!
I believe this Christmas….
Author Unknown
I believe that Christmas is more than just a time for parties and decorations; it is a time for remembering Christ and the difference his birth has made in our world and in our lives.
I believe there are gifts more important than the ones under the Christmas tree, the things we teach our children, the way we share ourselves with friends, and the industry with which we set about reshaping the world in our time.
I believe that the finest carols are often sung by the poorest voices; from hearts made warm by the wonder of the season.
I believe in the angel's message that we should not be afraid - that the Child of Bethlehem is able to overcome all anxieties and insecurities.
I believe in prayer and quietness as also a way of celebrating Christmas. This means that if I wait in silence I will experience the presence of the one born in the manger, for he lives today as surely as he lived then.
I believe in going away from Christmas as the wise men went: another way. I want to be different when these days are past - more centered, more thoughtful and more caring. And I believe God will help me. Amen.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
As long as there's Christmas, I truly believe
That hope is the greatest of the gifts we'll receive.
Don Black
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1238. for all postal workers

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
Bless us Lord, this Christmas, with quietness of mind; Teach us to be patient and always to be kind.

Lovely sentiments once again MA. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
I liked that I Believe poem, Ma. I can imagine it would cost a lot to mail out packages. I do admire the post office for the work they do getting things delivered in a timely manner this time of year. Enjoy your family celebration tomorrow!

I love the poem too Pam. It cost me a fortune to send presents each year, often more than the presents cost themselves, but I do it because it is my only way of being present with my family if that makes sense! Todd grumbles about the cost every year and the people at the post office always say I should send money instead, but I just can't. I like to send a gift. xxoo
