If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Luke 2: 19-20
Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I am getting old and the sign of old age is that I begin to philosophize and ponder over problems which should not be my concern at all.
Jawaharlal Nehru
Pondering is one word we don’t hear often, but it very simply means thinking things over. I sometimes have some thoughts that leave as quickly as they came and others that never seem to leave.
Maybe today is a good time to have some good thoughts. Like Mary we can think about what happened so many years ago at Christmas.
Like buried treasure, Mary captured the sights, sounds and entire scene. She held them deep within her heart and I’m guessing thought about them frequently. Recounting every detail she could remember, she cherished the moments and sealed them in her mind.
Remember: Christmas presents come and go,
but Christmas memories last a lifetime.
I hope you all have a Happy Thursday!

COUNTING MY GIFTS
Never lose sight of the fact that old age needs so little but needs that little so much.
Margaret Willour
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1214. for the ability to think
1215. for those good memories I have
1216. for the box of donuts I’ve been enjoying this week
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
Everyone is the age of their heart.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I like that word, ponder, and you are right, Ma, we don't hear it these days too often. I do agree that Mary did ponder a lot of the events in her life often through her life. It had to be overwhelming at times seeing what she saw, like the shepherds coming to visit the baby Jesus, the wise men, etc.
I hope your day is a good one!

I love the quote about the roses. I seem to be losing my memory somewhat, or maybe it is just I am getting older? I sure hope that's all it is! I often think of how Mary must have thought and felt. It must have been exciting and yet at the same time so very frightening. xxoo
