IT’S SUNDAY !!
Can you believe it – winter has finally arrived. It seems like we got an early start this year and it should be almost over by now, but it just arrived today.
Yesterday was our Family Christmas celebration and it was a day of joys and sorrows for sure. It started off with waking up to my beagle’s cries. I hurried downstairs to see what was wrong and found him unable to get on his feet. To make a long story short DS#5 and #6 came over and helped me get him to vet and there was informed that it was time to say good bye to my old friend. It was not an easy thing to do for sure.
A little after noon DD and her hubby picked me up to go over to DS#5’s for our get together and believe me when I say if anything can cheer you up it is a loving family. They can and do make a difference every day of my life. The grand’babes’ were thrilled to be playing with their cousins, aunts and uncles and had a grand time together. There was plenty of good food and lots of gifts shared too.
DS#2 and #4 called to say Merry Christmas and talked to everyone . I should say our ‘Sunshine’ boy called and talked to everyone. His Dad talked to me but for the most part he did all the talking. It was so very good to hear from them all.
We remembered those in our family that were not at our table this year and we thanked the dear Lord for the many blessings we do have in our lives.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS…WINTER
The winter solstice is one of the two times each year that the Sun is at its farthest point from the equator and appears to stand still. It occurs today at 7:04 A.M. EST. The word solstice is derived from the Latin sol, or "Sun," and stitium, or "stoppage." The Halcyon Days also occur around this time. According to ancient legend, a grieving wife named Alcyone, or Halcyon, threw herself into the sea upon discovering the drowned body of her beloved husband, Ceyx. The gods took pity on the pair, transforming them into kingfishers with the power to still the stormy seas for 14 days around the time of the winter solstice while they built their nest and hatched their young

Today is Look at the Bright Side Day, always on Humbug Day
Look on the Bright Side Day is today. We hope you see the light. Literally looking on the bright side may be a bit difficult today. It is winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. And, December days tend to be cloudy. However, we're going to be optimistic, and fully expect you to succeed.
Look on the Bright Side Day is a day to be optimistic. The term itself is an optimistic one. It calls upon us to look for something positive, out of an otherwise bad or sad situation. Often, a bad experience has positive lessons to be learned.
If you have a bad day yesterday, look on the bright side.... today is another day, and an optimistic one at that!

a garden for your kindly feelings, with the gate open? Are you willing to do these things for a day?
Then you are ready to keep Christmas!

TODAY’S REFLECTION
I know that my Redeemer lives.
Job 19:25
The Hallelujah Chorus stirs my soul whenever I hear it, as I’m sure it does yours. But let’s be sure we do more than resonate to that magnificent music. Let’s open our hearts in faith and adoration for the Messiah promised in the book of Isaiah (Isa. 9:1-7). He has come to us in the person of Jesus Christ to be our Savior.
Unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given;
and the government will be upon His shoulder
