TODAY’S QUOTE
Life is a grindstone. Whether it grinds you down or polishes you up
depends upon what you are made of.
John Maxwell
IT’S SATURDAY !!
BrrrChill ! Another frosty day in northern Ohio! I’m so thankful I don’t have to go out today for anything. It’s a good day to stay in. I go out to work Monday through Friday and freeze in the coming and going so for today, I’m going to stay warm.
Tomorrow I’ll go out to Church in the morning and then to an Advent service in the afternoon so today is the day if it is going to happen at all.
I’ve got my Christmas cards to get ready to mail and that will take a little while to do and of course there is the normal stuff that needs done around here like cleaning and laundry.
I gave up on my Christmas craft. It will wait til I’m ready to do it so it maybe that I’ll do it next year. We’ll see…
Take good care all and keep warm!
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS

name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY IS… ST. NICHOLAS DAY
St Nicholas was a Christian priest, born in 280 AD, in Tukey. He was a wealthy man and traveled the country helping people, giving gifts of money and presents. His gifts were given late at night so his identity would remain secret. He was eventually named the patron saint of children. The name Santa Claus was derived from the Dutch "Sinter Klass" pronunciation of St Nicholas. Early Dutch settlers in New York brought their traditions of St Nicholas. As children from other countries tried to pronounce Sinter Klass, this soon became Santa Klass, which was settled as Santa Claus. The first church in what would become New York City, built by the Dutch in 1624, was named for Sinterklaas

TODAY’S SMILE

SPECIAL THOUGHTS
Just For Today
Just for today I will try to live through this day only
and not tackle all my problems at once.
Just for today I will try to be happy.
This assumes to be true what Abraham Lincoln said
that ‘most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be.’
Just for today I will do somebody a good turn
and not get found out. If anybody knows of it, it will not count.
Just for today I will give myself some quiet time
to relax and be by myself.
Just for today I will be unafraid.
I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful
and to believe that as I give to the world,
so the world will give to me.
Just for today I will thank God
for all that I have, especially my family and close friends.
Just for today I will realize that if
I have made any mistakes in my life recently,
I can still pick up the pieces and get on with my life,
in my own time, at my own pace and in my own way

TODAY’S REFLECTION
At the sight of the crowds, His heart was moved with pity.
Matthew 9:36
The Lord is planning a wonderful Christmas. He promises: "No more will you weep" (Is 30:19). Our prayers will be answered immediately (Is 30:19). We will no longer be confused but know exactly which way to go (Is 30:21). Our lives will be fruitful and life-giving (see Is 30:23-25). We will walk in the light as never before and also see the Lord healing His people (Is 30:26).
These are just a few of Jesus' plans for Christmas. So much needs to be done to accomplish all these Christmas plans, and the Lord has decided not to do it all Himself but to send out workers to love, console, teach, lead, empower, enlighten, and heal (Mt 9:38).
Will you work in His Christmas harvest? "The harvest is good but laborers are scarce" (Mt 9:37).
He'll give you wonderful gifts, and all you have to do is pass it on (see Mt 10:8).
Will you work for the Lord this Advent? Deny yourself (see Luke 9:23) and work with Jesus this Advent and forever
