TODAY'S THOUGHT
Christmas is a golden chain that binds a family in faith, hope, and love...
drawing each to open the hearth of togetherness.

TODAY’S QUOTE
Christmas, Christmas time is near
Want a plane that loops the loop
IT’S MONDAY !!
BRRRCHILL!
It’s been very cold here and it is not warming up much at all today. It says we are to have a high of 18 degrees, but it has a long way to go before it gets there.
Yesterday was a quiet day. After church I had a ‘leftover’ lunch over at DS#5’s house and then came home and just chilled out for sure. I did do a little laundry as that always has to be done but otherwise did very little.
It will be a short work week as I’m off after noon on Wednesday and don’t go back til 1 week from today. It will be nice just to relax.
There is not much on the calendar for this week. I will go to church on Christmas day and hopefully spend some time visiting with my sisters during Christmas.
Take good care all and keep warm!
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
O King of all the nations, the only joy of every human heart;
O Keystone of the mighty arch of humankind,
Come and save the creature you fashioned from the dust
Heavenly Father, we thank you for your love.
Come, Lord Jesus, come
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU!
25 WORDS
God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me,
and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name
TO REMEMBER…
I am in the hands of God,
and in God’s time all things will be made well.
EACH DAY OF DECEMBER
Dec. 22 - Grandparent's Ornament:
As your family increases, give the grand-parents a tree ornament with each new grandchild's picture on it. Or make them an ornament each year that includes a recent family photo. Involve your kids in creating the ornament -- they'll have fun making it, and the grandparents will treasure the gift all the more
( this would be a nice gift for any friend or relative)
TODAY’S TRIVIA
Today is Santa Claus Clearance Day, the day the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration usually clears Santa Claus for his annual flight. The FAA says Santa’s sleigh is equipped with an in-flight de-icing system for polar routes, a Terrain Avoidance Warning System required for low-altitude flights, and a special seat belt extension for a rotund pilot

National Date Nut Bread Day is today. Enjoy a tasty bread for the holidays. It's the perfect bread for the season. It contains nuts and sugar, but is not heavy on the sugar. Date nut bread is quite popular. You can make it yourself, or buy some at the bakery. We suggest a couple of loafs. In our house, a single loaf does not last long.
Get your fill of Date Nut Bread today. After all, that's what this day is for
2 cups chopped dates
1 1/2 cup boiling water
1 Tablespoon butter or margarine
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 egg
2 cups brown sugar
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts
Pour water over dates, add butter and soda. Allow to cool. Add egg, brown sugar, flour, salt, and vanilla. Mix well. Stir in chopped walnuts. Spoon into loaf pans which have been greased and floured. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Cool and slice. May also be made into sandwiches with cream cheese filling.

TODAY’S SMILE
A family was preparing to do some separate Christmas shopping at the mall. Before they split up, the father said, "Let's synchronize our watches and agree to meet in the parking lot at five o'clock sharp." The four adjusted their respective watches. Then the mother turned to the father, and with hand outstretched said,
O.K. Now let's all synchronize our wallets!
ONE MORE…
Tired of super-hectic Christmas mornings, I was pleased to find a recipe called Christmas Morning Wifesaver Breakfast. I prepared the breakfast the night before so that it could be put in the oven while we opened our gifts with our four small children. It was delicious. The next year I followed the "tradition" and prepared the same breakfast. After everyone was seated and I put the casserole on the table,
my five-year-old exclaimed disgustedly,
This again!

TODAY’S REFLECTION
The Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel
Isaiah 7:14
SIGNS are all around us and influence all aspects of our life. Traffic signs help us travel safely from one place to another. Warning signs such as on high-voltage power lines are meant to keep us safe
We use these and many other signs to live our everyday life. But do we stop, look, and listen for the signs that God sends our way? Most of us do not - or else we see the signs but act on only those we feel comfortable with
This Christmas and every year, God comes to us. In fact, that's what Immanuel means: God is with us. May we open our hearts, eyes, and ears to the signs from Immanuel,
