ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

64 DAYS UNTIL SPRING!
Sunrise:7:51 am
Sunset: 5:22 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Today we’ll be seeing our first full moon in 2014. It’s known as the Wolf Moon. Since the length of daylight is still relatively short, the full Moon will appear for nearly its longest duration of the year. The light from the moon makes us be aware of cold and fidgety conditions that the weather can bring in January. This is also the best time for wolves. Amid the cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages. Thus, the name for this month's full Moon I try to never see a full moon in a negative light, remembering the full moon always brings closures to bring to us a better tomorrow.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Our days of winter count for double. That is the compensation of the old .
George Sand
There are many times I never get to see the full moon in winter and maybe that is a good thing as when it is clear out and the moon and stars are shining, it means we’ll have colder weather. It’s going to be a partly cloudy day here so I’m not sure whether I’ll see the January full moon or not.
One benefit of getting older and probably the best one for me, is that everyday is a holiday. I don’t have to go out in the weather if I don’t want to. Work has taken on a whole new definition for me. If I want to do it, I will, if not it will wait. It’s not going to go anywhere.
I am grateful to have been born when I was, into a kinder but poorer, gentler yet harsher world.
Yes, being old has its advantages.
Remember as the moon reflects the sun’s light, we too must be a light for others.
I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday, and if you see the full moon, think of me, I’ll be thinking of you.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
In the New Year, may your right hand always be stretched out in friendship and never in want.
Irish Blessing
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1316. for the blessings of old age
1317. for a moon that shines in the night, what a beautiful sight
1318. for sweatshirt with sparkly sequins that is brightening up my day
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
May every sunrise hold more promise, every moonrise hold more peace.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought

I was out taking pictures of the full moon last night... pretty... but I have to work tonight so hope not too many 'crazies' are out and about... Happy Wednesday! :)
I saw the moon right when I was getting back from walking Koda; it was awesome out there!! So true how the world was so different, just a few short years ago, Ma. It does seem more harsher these days indeed, but I know you do your best to bring joy and sunshine into it!
