49 DAYS UNTIL SPRING!
Sunrise:7:42 am
Sunset: 5:42 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
On January 30th we celebrate Curmudgeons Day. The good thing is that you don’t have to be grumpy to celebrate it.
Some people see it as a day when you’re permitted to be as miserable and grouchy as you like. In fact, they consider it a day when grumpiness should be celebrated.
But for those of us that look on the bright side, we can celebrate Curmudgeons Day and have fun while doing it. One of the best ways I know of to celebrate today is to spread some cheer and make a curmudgeon laugh.
Optimism is the cheerful frame of mind that enables a teakettle to sing, though in hot water up to its nose.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Cheerfulness is the best promoter of health and is as friendly to the mind as to the body.
Joseph Addison
It’s been hard to be cheerful here in the middle of winter, but as always I’ve found that what we give away comes back to us double. It is in cheering someone else up that we do feel better.
One of the best things I’ve heard lately and that made me SMILE, is that today we’re to be in the 20’s, even close to 30. We are finally out of the deep freeze. Now there is a delightful thought!
There is only one more day left to January, and where can we go but up from here on out. January this year was notorious for it’s cold days and while February often brings some of our snowiest days, we’ll be looking forward to some warmer days for sure.
Our area and many others are now experiencing road salt shortages and our side streets will only be salted if they have sharp curves or hills they say. As winter still has a way to go we’ll be hoping they don’t run out.
And lest I forget, I want to send out some Cheerful Birthday Wishes to DDIL#1’s mom today. We’ve been blessed to celebrate her birthday together other years but not this one, so didn’t want to her to think I’d forgotten.
Keep safe and warm and cheerful too! Think Spring!
The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up
Mark Twain
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Wondrous is the strength of cheerfulness, and its power of endurance -- the cheerful man will do more in the same time, will do it better, will preserve it longer, than the sad or sullen
Thomas Carlyle
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1361. for cheerful smiles and grins, and laughter
1362. for a cup of blueberry patch yogurt this morning
1363. for another almost an extra hour of daylight now
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
A cheerful face is nearly as good for an invalid as healthy weather.
Benjamin Franklin
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

Wow with the road salt shortage! Who would have thought? I'm sure lots of overtime was invested trying to keep the roads safe! Good thing about February is it is a short month!

It's morning - cheer up and smile. I like that but it has been hard to do that this winter with the constant rain, gales and flooding and dull dark days. The only way is to count ones blessings first!
