61 DAYS UNTIL SPRING!
Sunrise:7:51 am
Sunset: 5:27 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Today is one of the cuddliest holidays around because it's Winnie the Pooh Day. Today we celebrate the birthday of author A A Milne. It’s one special anniversary fans just can’t bear to miss! Every year, the occasion is marked with events such as teddy bears’ picnics, featuring plenty of honey on the menu.
Well, said Pooh, what I like best, and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I do like honey and do love my sweets. One of the sweet things in my life right now is that things are looking a little brighter here at my house. I’ve dug out just a few of my spring flowers to brighten up these gloomy January days.
The kitchen table even has a flowery table cloth on it. In my mind, I’m done with winter, but sadly it isn’t done with us. A little snow and colder temps are all that seems to be coming our way for a while.
Tomorrow is the 3rd Sunday of January already. Where or where does the time go. As usual I’ll be fixing dinner for any of my family that might choose to come over. It’s my way of keeping in touch with those that live close by anyway.
Hope you all are finding ways to endure these cold winter days. It’s a long weekend for some as we get a holiday on Monday for Martin Luther Kings’ birthday. And Monday is also a day to celebrate 2 more birthdays in my family. Both long distance ones of course, but how nice that it’s a day off for them too.
Keep warm, be safe and find some way to sweeten your day! Have a super Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
When I add a spoon of honey to my tea, I give thanks to a dozen bees for the work of their whole lives. When my finger sweeps the final drop of sweetness from the jar, I know we've enjoyed the nectar from over a million flowers. This is what honey is: the souls of flowers, a food to please the gods. Honeyeaters know that to have a joyful heart one must live life like the bees, sipping the sweet nectar from each moment as it blooms. And Life, like the world of honey, has its enchantments and stings….

I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1325. for the colors of spring to brighten up my day
1326. for having those to share good food and good times with
1327. for honey, I do love it in my tea
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
For I am a bear of very little brain and long words bother me.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

MA, I have been so sick this week and have missed some posts... but today's was practically perfect... the honey quotation was wonderful.
Back in the day WTP was exclusive to Sears, so everything at home and work was all about the bear... I even had the privilege of wearing the costume at work once to entertain the children/shoppers... Enjoy your bit of Spring... Here I keep the snowmen up all year to have a bit of winter when it's 110 outside... :)
Your flowers look great, Ma, and really if I hadn't known, I would have thought they were fresh! What a great day to celebrate Pooh's birthday! Even in winter, one could have an indoor picnic :)

I love Winnie the Pooh!
You can visit England and actually see the 100 acre wood that Milne based his stories on, and even see the bridge and play "pooh sticks"!
My son is named CHRISTOPHER!! xx
Good evening Ma, I guess I can say to here in South Alabama your pretty flowers and table cloth would fit right in. We have some spring days and some cool ones. Like you, I love to brighten things up know matter how cold it is. Take care and enjoy your weekend.
Oh, I do so love Winnie the Pooh! I have long collected his quotes. My favourite one is, "Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart." I love that. His wisdom is true. xxoo
