53 DAYS UNTIL SPRING!
Sunrise:7:45 am
Sunset: 5:37 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
If you happen to be married, today may just be your significant other’s lucky day! Today is Spouses Day! This annual holiday, which celebrates your better half, is observed each year on January 26th
In our busy and hectic lives, those we care about most sometimes feel unappreciated and taken for granted. Today serves as an important reminder that we need to show that special person in our life just how much we care and appreciate him or her.
We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude.
Cynthia Ozick
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
One is taught by experience to put a premium on those few people who can appreciate you for what you are
Gail Godwin
Appreciating one another is something we all can do whether we are married or not. Those around us everyday often get left out when it comes to appreciation. I can say that for 27 years of my life I was married to a wonderful man and I think he knew just how much he was appreciated.
Showing appreciation doesn’t have to mean gifts or even a dinner out. There are many ways to do so and I hope having this special date on the calendar will nudge you on do just that.
Gratitude has to be an attitude you carry with you every day. When our thoughts are mostly focused on what we appreciate in ourselves and others, we bring more love, health, prosperity and well being into our lives. Is't it amazing that the blessings right in front of our eyes EVERY DAY are the ones we're least likely to see. It takes TWO to make a marriage work...helping and sharing, appreciating one another. Remember: no one accepts you, supports you, and loves you as much as your spouse, all year round. Not just in the special moments, or the sad times, or the most wonderful time of the year, they do it every day. And that is something to be truly thankful for.
Hope you all have a restful and relaxing Sunday, I’m staying in an keeping warm!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.
Thornton Wilder
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1349. for 27 wonderful years, gone but not forgotten
1350. for my little house plants that are trying to keep green through these winter days
1351. for a hot bowl of chili on a very cold day
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

I am having a warm bowl of apples and cinnamon oatmeal with a banana... Hubby and I are both off today and have all day to appreciate each other... We'll be making a trip to Barnes & Noble (like I 'need' more books) and Walmart (we do need cat litter and shampoo) and then we'll be having hamburgers and cake for son2's birthday... :)
Cute with Spouse Appreciation Day. It is always nice to be appreciated; I'm sure your family definitely appreciates you Ma!

Every day is spouse day in our home. After both having had bad marriages in the past, Todd and I truly appreciate the blessing that is "us." I hope and pray it is ever so. Have a wonderful Monday! I am grateful for all that you share with us. You are a true treasure Pam. xxoo
