The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
Slightly adapted from one of my morning devotionals
Life is a special occasion!
Today is National Honey Bee Day which was formerly Honey Bee Awareness Day, started by beekeepers in United States to build community awareness of the bee industry through industry through education and promotion.
According to its organizers, they started with a simple concept: Bring together bee keepers, bee associations as well as others interested groups to connect with communities to advance beekeeping.
It was started in 2009 by a small group of beekeepers who petitioned for and received a formal proclamation by the USDA honoring honey bees and beekeeping.
To celebrate today, enjoy some delicious honey, it is also very good for you.
To see the bright side, polish the dull side
If you have no Honey in your pot, have some in your Mouth.
Benjamin Franklin
Honey is rich in antioxidants which improves heart health and is better for blood sugar level than regular sugar. It contains properties that can help fight off bacteria other germs and has long been used as a medicine for many kinds of ailments. I always love some honey and lemon in my tea when I have a cold.
My grandfather was a beekeeper and they always had honey on the table. I used to watch him get his smoker out and don his bee helmet so his face wouldn’t get stung. He would lift the lids of the bee hives and take some fresh honey out when they needed it. Honey comb and all. My grandmother kept it in a jar on the dining room table. A mixture of butter and honey spread on a hot biscuit is delicious.
Now that basketball is over it is not as exciting as it used to be on Saturday, but I think we’ll be going out to eat this evening. They like to go to a place that has good chicken wings. They also have lots of other things so I usually get a shrimp or fish basket. They don’t fix that at home, so I enjoy it out.
My grand dogs should be going home today and I imagine they will be very happy, but they will be missed here.
Tomorrow we will be getting more company in from OHIO. DSIL’s sister and her husband are flying in. There will definitely be some busy days ahead here.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
Kindness in ourselves is the honey that blunts the sting of unkindness in another.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
The honey is sweet, but the bee stings.

CELEBRATE and enjoy some delicious honey today !
what a great memory of your grandfather. Every now and then, bees would take up residence in some part of the farm. Our bee keeper neighbor would come and move them. I love honey.
National Honey Bee Day - thank goodness people raise and take care of the bees. I know they are sort of becoming endangered. We couldn't survive without bees.
