The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
Slightly adapted from one of my morning devotionals
Life is a special occasion!
Today is Serendipity Day which encourages people to look for and appreciate the lovely unexpected things that are always out there, if only people took the time to notice them.
Serendipity is a term that is not often used, although its meaning applies to all humans in the world. Serendipity is the emergence and development of events by chance, whether joyously or constructively. It is also described as a happy accident or a pleasant surprise.
Celebrate today and encourage people to confront unexpected good fortune.
To see the bright side, polish the dull side
Sometimes life drops blessings in your lap without your lifting a finger.Serendipity, they call it.
Charlton Heston
I am one who always looks forward to a new day, you just never know what might happen next. I have been blessed with many happy unexpected surprises in my life.
Moving to and living in Texas was definitely one of them. It was a happy surprise when my daughter asked me to move with them so she could take care of me in my old age.
It has been a happy surprise for me to see all my children pitch in to see that I have what I need.
Matter of fact it was a blessing that I even had any of them. After waiting a long time for children to come into my life, I had just about given up hope that I would ever have a child of my own. They are the best surprise I ever received.
DD and her hubby left early this morning to help DS#2 move his daughter into a college dorm. That bring back a lot of memories for me of days gone by when I did the same.
We have a heat advisory today and it sounds like we’ll be above 100 degrees for the next week or so. Still it is a beautiful morning here with a light breeze blowing. I do love mornings!
Later on today DSIL’s sister will be flying in for a visit and they’ll go to the airport to get them. My grandson has a friend’s birthday party to attend but he’ll be home later to see them. All in all it sounds like a very good day!
All I have to do is sit here and wait for everyone to get home. I can’t begin to tell you how very blessed I am.
The pictures today are just a few of the many of my grandchildren going back to school.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
I’ve always loved life, and I’ve never known what’s ahead. I love not knowing what might be round the corner. I love serendipity.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
12,602. for each new day which always brings unexpected surprises
12,603. for my many blessings
12,604. for a beautiful morning
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
In reality, serendipity accounts for one percent of the blessings we receive in life, work and love. The other 99 percent is due to our efforts.

I hope you experience a happy accident or a pleasant surprise today! .
So how old were you when you had your first child? Serendipity - I love the thought of that.
What a lovely word, Serendipity! I did enjoy a sound sleep/nap which I think qualifies.
I hope your day as "keeper of the manse" was perfectly pleasant, as well!
