The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
Slightly adapted from one of my morning devotionals

Happy Birthday to you♥
Today is also International Youth Day which raises awareness of the state of young people around the globe. It is our opportunity to think about the different problems that the youth of today face, such as malnutrition and diseases and to work together to find solutions. Together we can make a difference.
In 1999, the General Assembly of the United Nations designated August 12, the International Youth day. The hope was that people would organize activities that would educate the public about issues that involve youth. The assembly also wanted to promote the World Program of Action for Youth, which is dedicated to finding solutions to these situations.
Celebrate today and think about young people you know that could use a friend and offer your support.
To see the bright side, polish the dull side
To find joy in work is to discover the fountain of youth.

This granddaughter is my youngest grandchild. She is not a baby, but is the baby in her family. She lives back in Ohio, so it’s a long distance celebration for me today, A card will be soon sent in the mail filled with birthday wishes and lots of love.
There are many people in the world that are starving right now or do not have clean water to drink. This situation seems almost impossible to believe in this day and age. With all the wealth in this world, there should be no one who goes hungry or thirsty. The problems seems to be that some people don’t share. They are greedy and don’t want to share their abundance with others.
From the time I first made my own money, I always gave something to the poor. Our Church has a group that helps people in need and I have been on the receiving end of that. When DDH died, he’d been unemployed for almost a year. We had used all our savings and didn’t have much of anything. I had a job but it didn’t pay well, barely making just over minimum wage. That didn’t go far when we had a mortgage to pay and 7 children to feed and clothe.
After a while we began getting aide from Social Security, but that didn’t happen right away. Even at that it wasn’t very much.
So many people through no fault of their own find themselves in less than desirable circumstances, we can all reach out and help as much as we are able to. Even if it’s only donating canned goods to a food drive, we should help when we can.
We have another mostly cloudy day but they aren’t predicting rain. It will be hot again. That’s August in Texas I guess.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week! Happy Monday!

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen

Happy Birthday blessings to your little Darling!
How appropriate that International Youth Day falls right at the conclusion of the Olympics. I imagine those athletes are a wonderful inspiration to today's young people.
