The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
Slightly adapted from one of my morning devotionals
Life is a special occasion!
Today is Coast Guard Day, which is when we honor the military branch that protects our waters and shorelines, the United States Coast Guard.
When it was first originated it was called the Revenue Cutter Service. More than two hundred years later, we celebrate all that the Guard has done to protect our country.
Grand Haven, Michigan is known as Coast Guard City, USA. Historically this town’s annual celebration has been famous for its large celebration and commemoration of the Coast Guard.
Celebrate today and make sure to take a moment to commemorate the Coast Guard and show you appreciated all the men and women. Decorate your windows, front doo or porch with patriotic colors.
To see the bright side, polish the dull side
From handling search and rescue missions, conducting anti terrorism activities, and ensuring our goods are safely transported in and out of our ports, the men and women of the United States Coast Guard deserve functioning infrastructure.

We have an American Flag hanging outside so we are celebrating today! I’m thankful for all those in the military and pray for them every day.
When I lived in Ohio close to Lake Erie, we heard about the heroic efforts of the Coast Guard often in the news. Now I’m more inland and don’t hear the news from the coast unless there is a hurricane moving in.
The pictures I have were mainly taken from the internet but I have visited the Coast Guard station in Lorain, Ohio.
It’s another partly cloudy day and they say we could have rain coming our way. I heard some thunder earlier but that storm didn’t come here but moved on.
Today my Daughter has to work again at her part time job so it will be a quiet one here for us. I have been reading books from Kindle Unlimited which are free as long as I pay a small monthly fee. I have found several series of books to read so that’s what I’ll be doing for the most part. The authors were previously unknown to me, but some are really good!
My grandson’s basketball game yesterday, earned them 2nd place trophy so they didn’t win their last game. He was upset that they lost, but most of the points they got to get to the championship game, he made. It takes a team to win and you cannot do it all by yourself. The team just isn’t as good as he is. DS#2 and his wife came to help cheer him on too! Of course, they all want him to come back to play with them next year!
I hope you all have RELAXING Sunday!
The Coast Guard has long been known as the armed services that gets more done for less.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
12,560. for members of the coast Guard and all military
12,561. for the flag that decorates our home
12,562. for a bit of rain coming our way
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
Those who served, and those who continue to serve in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard took an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, and we can never forget the importance of their commitment to our Nation.

a smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I appreciate our military force too. We take them so for granted.
I hope it will be cooler in 50 days.
That is great you are reading books on Kindle - keep you active and smart!
Have a good day.

Win or lose, I love how your family supports one another! I hope your grandson will be feeling a little better about it soon. Enjoy your new book series!
