The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
Slightly adapted from one of my morning devotionals
Life is a special occasion!
Today is Book Lovers Day which is a special for all the bookworms out there. It is the perfect time curl up, get lost in a book, and escape the hectic stress and nature of life.
The first books date back to 2,900 BC and have been crucial to education and historical records ever since. It’s not only a fun and enriching hobby, but it also makes smarter and more relaxed people. The beauty of reading is that there are many great books out there to fulfill all different interests.
Reading is a popular pastime, and so enriching to our lives. No matter what your interests are there is a book out there for you!
To celebrate this national holiday, read an old favorite book or a new book you’ve been wanting to read, or host a book club with friends. Take a break from technology and appreciate the simplicity of reading. Find a comfortable and quiet place to enjoy some wonderful books!
To see the bright side, polish the dull side
If you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book.

This is one of my favorite holidays, because I love to read. From the fist book I got at the library to the last one I read on my kindle, they have all been good. I’ve learned so many things from them that I would never have known otherwise. I’ve also traveled to many places that didn’t cost a cent because I did that from reading a book.
Today, I may not read as much as usual because we have visitors. Two of my grand dogs have come to spend a week with us as their family is taking a trip. They are both little and adorable. One is older and the other is still very much a puppy. They will be keeping us busy and entertained for sure. I got to sleep with the older one last night. She cuddled up and slept beside me till early morning and then must have needed to go outside as she started whimpering. My daughter heard her and took her out for me so that I could sleep a little longer.
I moved a very small amount of books when I left Ohio. The pictures I’m showing are ones that I had then, not now. I rarely buy books any more but read them on my Kindle. Most days are spent reading more than not. I can get lost in a book and the time passes quickly.
Our heat advisory continues today and I pray for any that have to be out in this hot sunny weather working, that they stay safe. I sit in the shade with a fan to keep me cool, so I don’t suffer from the heat as much. I love to be outside, but sometimes I just need to cool off in the air conditioning.
Our guests are definitely inside dogs and only come out for a quick visit to the yard and back inside again.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
A book is a gift that you can open again and again.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen

Celebrate today and read a good book!
I love my books too Ma. So 4 days to fall? I sure wish the temps knew that. Have a great weekend.
I, too, love to read. The latest thriller kept me up way past my bedtime last night so I may indulge in a nap this afternoon. Enjoy spoiling those little furbabies!
