The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
Slightly adapted from one of my morning devotionals
Life is a special occasion!
Today is National Radio Day, which is a holiday that recognizes the invention of the radio as an important form of communication, news, and entertainment.
This holiday is observed on August 20th, because the first commercial radio Station, Detroit’s 8MK, began daily broadcasts on that date in 1920. Today radio serves as a provider of breaking news, including local, national, and international news and emergency broadcasts. In addition to different genres of music, radio also offers a wide variety of sports, comedy, politics, culture and art.
Today celebrate and tune in to your favorite radio station! Happy listening.
To see the bright side, polish the dull side
Take a moment every day to find peace. Pull over to the side of road, turn off the radio, and find peace.
Richard Simmons
I listen to the radio just about every day. My favorite is a country music station. We listen to it when we’re inside or outside. MY SIL likes to turn it up loud, me not so much, but I’m getting used to it.
I’ll never forget the day I was at work and had the radio on when the terriorist attack happened on 9/11. Everyone was terrified not knowing what was happening. Later after my bosses came into work, they set up a TV so we could see what was happening. I wouldn’t have known what happened if I hadn’t been listening to the radio.
And just so you know, today is also National Bacon Lover’s Day! I couldn’t find any radio pictures but I did have some of bacon so that is why there’s bacon pictures instead.
Everyone is back to school and work here today. It’s my grandsons 1st day of school for 2024. They had to leave very early. The only ones here are our visitors and me. So far this morning, I haven’t seen them, so they are sleeping in.
It’s another beautiful sunny morning and we have another heat advisory.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
The power of radio is not that it speaks to millions, but that it speaks intimate and privately to each one of this millions.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
TV gives everyone an image, but radio gives birth to a million images in a million brains.

Two things to celebrate today. Tune in to the radio and munch on some bacon!
The radio was my best friend while growing up. KOMA out of Oklahoma City was every teen's favorite, but it wasn't long before I segued over to Country. Glad you all discovered a good station!
I listen to 104.7 The Fish Christian Radio every single morning.
When I think about home on the farm, the scents of bacon frying and coffee perking are my strongest memories.
