The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
Slightly adapted from one of my morning devotionals
Life is a special occasion!
Today is National Creamsicle Day which celebrates an enjoyable frozen treat. It’s the perfect way to relax and cool down on a hot August day. The classic combination is orange and vanilla, although there are other varieties now sold.
Creamsicles are easy to make at home. Mix together fruit juice and vanilla ice cream, then gently add milk and continue to mix. Finally pour the mixture in small paper cups and place in freezer. Once they are partially frozen, insert popsicle sticks and place back in the freezer until frozen solid. Then you can peel off the paper cup and enjoy the creamsicle.
To celebrate today, make or buy some creamsicles to enjoy!

I’ve never made my own creamsickles, but I do love them. I was able to have one not long ago as DD had some in the freezer. It was delicious and helped cool me off for a little while. They are not something I can eat often because of the sugar content, but I surely did enjoy it.
So far these August days have been all the same, partly cloudy and hot. This morning feels very humid too. There is a little breeze blowing and it really feels good.
My grandson has been preparing for school to start and has been getting up earlier this week. Next week school starts here for him.
My visiting granddogs have been fun to have around but they will be going home on Saturday. I’m going to miss them, but I know they’ll be glad to get back home too.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
Life is like an ice cream; Enjoy it before it melts.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
Enjoy your ice cream while it’s on your plate

I couldn't find pictures of the creamsicles today so put some in on ways to keep cool. Take care everyone and enjoy a creamsicle today!
I can eat a cream cycle - but I can't say they are my favorite. I am the dog in front of the fan. Good luck to your grandson starting school - they have been in school for two weeks now here. And I bet your grand dogs were fun to have around.
So I have a question for you - you gave up sugar - all sugar or how many grams of sugar do you allow yourself? And did you lose any weight?
I started to give up sugar - giving myself about 20 grams a day. It has been okay.
And another question - are you receiving my posts in any way? I have posted two and miss you. I hate to ask - just want to make sure things are okay. It is surely okay if you don't want to post anymore.
Hugs. sandie
