The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
Slightly adapted from one of my morning devotionals
Sorry there are no pictures to share with you today!
Life is a special occasion!
Today is a Happy Birthday to DDIL#3

Happy Birthday to you♥
Today is also Bratwurst Day which celebrate a heavily spiced sausage, usually enjoyed on a roll with mustard or by itself served with sauerkraut on the side. The term bratwurst is compound of two German words — braten which means to fry, and wurst which means sausage.
Bratwrursts originated in German and have been around since the 14th century. They are generally made from pork, veal or beef. Truly dedicated fans attend the annual Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival in Ohio to celebrate this historical dish.
We do have a lot German settlers in Texas and I’d be surprise if bratwurst is not celebrated somewhere here today. I see signs in a lot of places that tell about some the German settlers.
To celebrate today, cook up some brats and don’t forget to wash them down with a cold brew of your choice.
To see the bright side, polish the dull side
Sausage is a great deal like life. You get out of it about what you put into it.

This DIL lives back in Ohio so I will soon be sending her a card in the mail. I’m behind in mailing birth cards but I haven’t been shopping since my daughter went back to work. I guess I’ll look online to see what I can get. Amazon will deliver right to your door. And we still have a couple more August family celebrations coming.
Even though I lived in Ohio, I never got to go this Bratwurst festival. I have been though Bucyrus just not when thew festival was going on.
None the less I love bratwurst sandwiches with sauerkraut as a topping. They are very good cooked on an outside grill. I usually have mine with sides like German potato salad and 3 bean salad.
It’s sunny with only a few clouds in the sky here today, so no doubt it will be hot. Nothing new is happening
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
Love and sausage are alike. Can never have enough of either.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
12,596. for delicious brats
12,597. for a beautiful morning!
12,598. for a nice gentle breeze blowing
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
There are two things nobody should ever have to watch being made, sausage and laws.

Yum! In spite of my heritage, I've never been to one of those festivals. However, I recently discovered a package of brats in the freezer. In honor of this day, I'm going to suggest we do a couple on the grill with some spicy mustard.
I love the little festivals. We had Poland Kielbasa today - does that count?
Happy 😀 Birthday 🥳
