The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
Slightly adapted from one of my morning devotionals
Life is a special occasion!
Today is National Punch Day which celebrates punch , a party drink we all love. The word punch comes from the Hindustani word, panch, which means five.
In the early 1600’s the sailors and employees of the British East India Company brought a new exotic drink from India to Europe. The beverage was made with five ingredients — spirits, lemon, sugar water and tea.
The recipe spread from country to country and pretty soon became one of the most popular party drinks in the world. Today there are hundreds of punch recipes in the world.
To celebrate today mix up your favorite concoction and share the recipe with family and friends.

Life is a party, dress for it.

The pictures today are of my old punch bowl which I used to have. It was either sold or given away when I moved. I used to get it out and make punch in it when ever we had a party of any kind. The punch we drank was called frothy slosh. It was made of apple cranberry juice, ginger ale , and had sherbet floating on the top. When the sherbet was dropped into the bowl it would make the mixture froth up, thus the name. Everyone loved it so I never changed the recipe. I’d only change the color of sherbet to go with the season.
The punchbowl set was a wedding present so was quite old. I can only hope who ever has it, enjoys it as much as I did.
I have so many good memories and these pictures bring back a lot of good times.
I hope you all have GREAT start to this new week! Happy Monday!
The grace of God means something like: Here is your life. You might have never been, but you are because the party wouldn’t have been complete without you.

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Party today and enjoy some punch!
I don't remember my parents having a punch bowl, but certainly enjoyed those times where I was a willing taster! Regardless the contents, it always lent an air of elegance.
Happy new week!
You know Ma, I had a punch bowl too. I am not sure where mine went either. Do kids of today put that on their wedding lists even? I remembered I had a recipe once with beer - seriously - and it was pretty good. Sandie
