The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
Slightly adapted from one of my morning devotionals
Life is a special occasion!
Today is National Root Beer Float Day which celebrates a tasty summer treat. At the end of the 19th century, a man called Frank Wisner invented the first root beer float. That version was also known as a black cow. To make this delicious beverage , just add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to a glass of root bear. To avoid a big mess, make sure not to add the rootbeer to the ice cream.
To celebrate today make your own Root Beer Float and enjoy the sweet goodness.
To see the bright side, polish the dull side
My point of view is this: If you like root beer floats so much, have one on Monday, another on Tuesday, and a third on Wednesday.
Dean Koontz
Root beer floats are a thing of the past for me. I used to love them and we’d go to Dogs and Suds to get the best around. I’ve made my own too, many times. Now I’d need sugar free ice cream and diet root beer to be able to have one.
It’s going to be a repeat of yesterday here, blue skies and sunshine. There are a few white puffy clouds in the air, but not many.
I’m really beginning to notice the shorter daylight hours. It’s getting dark earlier and light later every day. But it still feels very much like summer, even in Ohio, August was our hottest month and it’s the same here.
I hope you all have TERRIFIC Tuesday!
Nothing beats a Root Beer Float for the taste and creaminess.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
Root beer floats are the stuff that toasts are made of.

a smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
P.S.I got a message from DS#6 who asked for prayers; He says he is one of five illustrators up for a pretty exciting project. Not sure when he’ll find out, but any positive vibes and prayers are welcome and appreciated.
Dear Lord i’m praying for my son to be the chosen illustrator for this project. He needs your help right now as do we all. In the name of Jesus I pray thy will be done.
Amen

I hope you can enjoy a delicious Root Beer float today and as Always I thank you for any and all prayers.
How my father loved his black cows! I don't think he/they ever made them at home, but one of my favorite childhood memories is one Thanksgiving we stayed in downtown Denver and he took me to a nearby soda fountain and had them make us one.
I'm saying a prayer for your DS#6. Thank you for asking!
