2015 Family Reunion
Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Log Cabin Day. This holiday encourages us to step away from a world of computers, electric lighting, and even indoor plumbing to embrace and experience a simpler existence.
Log cabins have a strong association with rustic and rural North America, but historically log construction has its roots in the timber rich regions of Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. A couple hundred years ago, life was far more rugged. Americans moving West found an untouched wilderness, filled with pristine forests. They built their homes out of logs. These log cabins were solid, long lasting, and served them well.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Simplicity is making the journey of this life with just baggage enough.
Charles Warner
Life may have been simpler back in the days when our settlers built log cabins, but it wasn’t an easy life at all and a lot of hard work was done just to exist. Thinking about what brave people they were to venture into unknown lands makes me appreciate my ancestors more and more. Now a days we have what I call luxury log cabins. But still and all living a simpler life is something that I can recommend to all.
It seems that today everyone has lots to do and keep very busy to the point of exhaustion sometimes trying to do it all. Thankfully, my children all took some time out last week to gather as a family. This is the first time in a long long time we’ve all been together and that is what today’s pictures are of.
Today is a great day to simplify and take a break. It’s Sunday my day to refresh and renew.
I hope you all have a RESTFUL and relaxing Sunday too !

COUNTING MY GIFTS
The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life’s plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.
Robert Louis Stevenson
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
2895. for family time, always a blessing
2896. for simpler times and simple ways
2897. for our photographer, she did a great job of capturing our day
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.
Albert Einstein
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Great pictures of your family at your reunion, Ma!! That was neat how there were group pictures like this! I am so glad I live nowadays and not in the times of log cabins. I don't think I would have made a good pioneer's wife :)

You'd think by this age I'd have outgrown feeling envious ... so let me just say, 'lucky duck!' having such a large and happy brood! (No fun being an 'only child' and then I went and did it to my own!)
Love seeing that big smile on your face!
Great pictures! It's good to see them all at once !
