Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Hug Holiday Day which encourages us to give hugs to those who need them. On this day, people go out and give hugs at senior citizen centers, hospitals, and other places. The focus is upon elderly, sick and invalid, lonely people and anyone who needs the warmth, cheer, and love that a hug provides.
To celebrate this day to the fullest, venture out and give someone a warm, sincere and loving hug and enjoy the benefits for yourself, too!
Hugging has no unpleasant side effects and is all natural. There are no batteries to replace, it's inflation proof and nonfattening with no monthly payments. It's nontaxable, nonpolluting, and is, of course, fully refundable.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A hug delights and warms and charms,
that must be why God gave us arms.

I love to get hugs and to give hugs. They are wonderful and I’m thankful for the ones I get. I get plenty when my family is around. They are huggers for sure. But in between times I surely do miss them.
There is a saying by Virginia Satir, a respected family therapist, that says, We need four hugs a day for survival. We need eight hugs a day for maintenance. We need twelve hugs a day for growth. Looks like there are many days I’m barely hanging on here at my house. Thankfully I do get some internet hugs and smiles to keep me healthy.
A hug can speak louder than words. A simple hug can change a person’s day, emotions and even their life.
It’s hard to believe we are starting another new week already. The weather man is saying we’ll be seeing a lot more rain coming our way too. The 4th of July also is coming this weekend and I’m hoping that the fireworks everyone enjoys won’t get rained out this year.
There is not a whole lot going on at my house this week. My calendar is blank. It will hopefully be a quiet and calm week.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday !

2898. for quiet days ahead
2899. for hugs, they are wonderful
2900. for the internet, it keeps my family close by even when they are far away
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
A Simple Hug
There's something in a simple hug
That always warms the heart;
It welcomes us back home
And makes it easier to part.
A hug's a way to share the joy
And sad times we go through,
Or just a way for friends to say
They like you 'cause you're you.
Hugs are meant for anyone
For whom we really care,
From your grandma to your neighbor,
Or a cuddly teddy bear.
A hug is an amazing thing -
It's just the perfect way
To show the love we're feeling
But can't find the words to say.
It's funny how a little hug
Makes everyone feel good;
In every place and language,
It's always understood.
And hugs don't need new equipment,
Special batteries or parts
Just open up your arms
And open up your hearts.
Never wait until tomorrow to hug someone you could hug today,
because when you give one, you get one right back your way.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

That was interesting about the number of hugs a person needs daily for maintenance, etc. I think I fall short of that number too. One of the churches we went to, everyone was huggers. Now I know why! Sending you a hug today, Ma!
