Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Each June 13 honors those who would like to cook and be in the kitchen but it just doesn’t seem to work well for them: it is National Kitchen Klutzes of America Day.
Klutz: most commonly referred to as a clumsy person.
There are many people who have the intentions of Paula Dean, Julia Child, Rachael Ray, Wolfgang Puck, Bobby Flay or one of the other wonderful chef’s, however their good intentions always seem to end up upside down. We have all had our little mishaps: spilled milk, broken glass, 1 tablespoon of salt instead of 1 teaspoon, baking soda instead of baking powder, burned cookies, underdone roast, cut our finger, burned our hand and etc.. It is to the Kitchen Klutz that these things continue to happen time and time again.
It may be necessary to keep a medical emergency kit in the kitchen for these brave people who keep trying!
Have a WONDERFUL day!!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
You can waste time crying over spilled milk, or you can simply wipe it up and keep moving.

It's ok to be klutzy. Yep that's right! If you broke a dish today then be creative and crafty. Pick up the pieces and glue them on something and have some fun. Maybe you could make yourself a mosaic picture, frame or flower pot. Either way just know that spills and breaks don't matter at all today, or any day for that matter. We are all good at cleaning up the messes in life right? Just enjoy yourself and if you see someone be klutzy in the kitchen today don't be mean by making them feel bad. Accidents happen all the time so live today on the lighter side of life.
I’m a klutzy person and know that if my day starts off with some spilled milk it’s time for me to do something else. It may be that instead of time in the kitchen, I just need to sit on the porch and read a good book.
I do love to cook but more than not, these days find me doing other things. Sandwiches and salads are mostly on the menu these days. Not long ago one of my friends made an orange and date salad that was very yummy and one I’ll be making often so I thought I’d share the recipe with you all today.
The proportions would depend on how many you want to serve. I’d suggest one orange per person.
It’s like a version of Waldorf salad. Simply mix orange segments together with chopped dates, chopped celery and mayonnaise. Refrigerate till cool. It was a delicious combination and I found out that dates now come prepackaged already chopped. That’s an important factor when you are a kitchen klutz. Simple to make, easy to do and delicious!
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!

That orange salad does sound refreshing; good for a summer day. I remember growing up we had a lot of klutzy days in the kitchen between spilled milk and breaking dishes.

Yea!!! ... finally, a day set aside to honor ME! LOL :)
I like that idea of picking up the broken pieces and affixing them to something else.
Sort of goes hand-in-glove with a quote I spotted out on Facebook earlier that begins, "Never be ashamed of a scar.”
I love the way your mind works Pam! I'm all for picking up the broken pieces and creatin something new! I'm usually not klutsy in the kitchen. It's everywhere else I mess up! Loving the salad. Sounds nice and fresh! Have a fabulous Sunday! Hope it is blessed beyond measure!
