Decide to be happy today, to live with what is yours – your family, your business, your job, your luck. If you can’t have what you like, maybe you can like what you have.
Just for today, be kind, cheerful, agreeable, responsive, caring, and understanding. Be your best, dress your best, talk softly, and look for the bright side of things. Praise people for what they do and do not criticize them for what they cannot do. If someone does something stupid, forgive and forget. After all, it’s just for one day.
Who knows, it might turn out to be a nice day.

I hope you take some time to relax and refresh for the coming week ahead.
Baldacci and Catherine Coulter are also two of my favorites. I miss them and need to get back to something other than westerns.
funny thing in my growing up, we were not close to cherry trees and the only ones that survived the birds were trees in someone else's yard that they somehow covered with a net to keep the birds out. I guess that is why cherry turnovers are the only ones mama did not make....
Love from down here.
Sherry & jack
Baldacci fan here, too! Having a relaxed (vs. lazy)day and enjoying visiting my blog buddies. Love the idea for cherry turnovers made easy. Made French toast and now enjoying a second cup of coffee. Have a great day!
I love David Baldacci! It's been a good day to visit my blog peeps as I have gathered up so many book recommendations!! Enjoy your Sunday! We are staying an extra day at the ranch so I can clean and pack up with leisure instead of running out of here like my hair's on fire!
I learned to make cherry turnovers in Home Economics. Then, because my parents praised them, I got on a roll. After a while, they probably were so sick of them -- but never said a word.
Baldacci is one of my favorite writers, too!
I made cinnamon rolls this morning, and cherries sound good, too!
I make cookies for my trash men... they have a hard job, and I make either cookies or brownies for them every week. They have changed their schedule several times, but now, they are back to coming by 9 or 9:30, so I am baking tonight! When I make brownies, I have to protect them from the dust on our gravel road... cookies are easier...I put them in a clear storage bag and on top of the bin. I always get a honk and a wave from the guys.
Oh, MA.... my electric bill has gone up, too, but I don't want my son and I and the animals to suffer in the extreme heat we had this summer. I look at the poor people around the world and my heart goes out to everyone. I visited with a friend yesterday and told him that a year ago, I had plenty of money for little extras for everyone, and to get things here for...that ability has gone away for now.
