THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Marriage is the most natural state of man and ..the state in which you will find solid happiness.
Benjamin Franklin
This is another long distance celebration for me, but I’m always happy that my children are married and have wonderful spouses. I consider marriage to be a blessing. I had a happy marriage and wish them the same. As usual, a card will go out filled with anniversary wishes and love!
DDH was a left hander, but all my children are right handed. There are, however, a few left handers in the family and try to always treat them with a seat at the head of the table or on the corner where they won’t have to bump elbows with someone next to them.
DDH could use both his left and right hand equally. He had beautiful handwriting and would tell about the difficult times he had when the teacher would try to make him use his right hand instead. Now being a letfty is more accepted than it used to be.
It’s my day to cook up something new and on the menu is:
Barbecued Picnic Chicken
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp. butter
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup chili sauce
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp. celery seed
1 Tbsp prepared mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
2 dashes hot pepper sauce
2 boiler fryer chickens, cut up
In a large saucepan saute garlic in butter until tender. Add next 8 ingredients. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Remove from heat and set aside.
On a lightly greased grill rack, grill chicken, covered, over medium high heat for 30 minutes, turning occasionally. Baste with sauce. Grill 15 minutes longer or until a thermometer reaches 170 degrees. Basting and turning several times.
This is a large recipe so I’ll definitely be making 1/2 of it. I am using chicken legs instead of a cut up chicken. I also am using already prepared barbecue sauce instead of making my own.
I’m keeping it as simple and easy as I can.
For today I’m attending my 60 year high school reunion. My sister is going along with me as I didn’t want to go alone. Thankfully, she graciously agreed to go along with me. Her husband had hip replacement surgery and she wasn’t sure she would be able to attend, but the surgery went fine and he is now recovering.
I wanted to see how many of us have survived these 60 years and haven’t been to one in a long time. I think it may have been the 10th or 20th, I’m not sure.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The secret of a happy marriage is finding the right person. You know they’re right if you love to be with them all the time.
Julia Child
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

To have a happy marriage simply love one another !
Happy Anniversary!!
Happy Anniversary to your cuties! Like your DDH, I'm left-handed with a strong tendency to use my right if strength or aim is called for. Come to think of it, I also use the 'right hand' mouse. Thankfully, I don't think any of my teachers tried changing which hand I wrote with; that just sounds cruel.
