ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SUNDAY, MAY 15TH, 2022
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Chocolate Chip Day which honors an essential ingredient in dozens of baked goods. There are chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels and many more.
In the 1930’s Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests but she ran out of bakers chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25 per cent of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip.
Celebrate today by baking something yummy to enjoy with your family.
If you can't see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Cookies are made of butter and love.

I won’t be baking here today but there are some chocolate chip cookies in the pantry that I can enjoy. DD keeps lots of snacks in her cupboard.
This is the last day of my little mini vacation. DD and her hubby should be home later today. Meanwhile I’ll be enjoying the last few hours with my grandson and the dogs. It’s been a joy to me to be here and I will really miss them all when I go home. Thankfully they don’t live far away so I can visit often.
It’ll be a relaxing day. I got to sleep in as my grandson had spent the night with his cousin. They’ll be bringing him back soon, so I won’t be going to church but staying here to welcome him home.
I’ll watch services on line. I hope they never discontinue doing that. It’s a way to stay in touch with my church even when I can’t go.
We’re to have a partly cloudy with slight chances of rain here today. It’s in the lower 80’s but tomorrow we’ll be cooler in the 60’s again and a better chance of rain. This is more normal for us. We don’t usually see 80 degrees temps until July. But I certainly did enjoy them.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Cookies are the sweetest little bit of comfort food. They are very bite sized and personal.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I want to thank you all for the prayers and good wishes for my granddaughter. She is doing better and has been diagnosed with a viral infection which is successfully being treated now.
Today is Sherry's day!!! Glad you are enjoying your mini-vacation. YES having services on-line is one good thing about the Pandemic. May as well look for the good there. LOL
Love from down here and KNOW your day will be good with the GRAND! ;-)
Simple pleasures! I appreciate that our little church still streams services online, too. It's a great resource, both for shut-ins and those who may be curious what we're all about. Thanks for the comment about your Sweetheart; I'm so glad she's responding to treatment!
