ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If you can laugh at it, you can live with it.
Erma Bombeck
I think that if you are happy with your work, you are more productive and finding time to laugh each day can make things look a little brighter.
I’ve not been very productive here at my house this week. I guess I need to laugh more…Ha! There just isn’t much needs doing or a least that I feel like doing.
On the bright side, even though we continue to have snow each day, it isn’t more than a couple of inches at a time.
So far I’ve kept all the flu and colds at bay and that is a wonderful thing. I’m just hanging in there until Spring comes our way.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Molasses Bar Day, which is an opportunity to whip up a batch of chewy molasses bar cookies.
Date Nut Molasses Bars
1 cup flour, sifted
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1/4 cup shortening, melted
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup nuts, chopped
1 package, 7 ounces, pitted dates, finely chopped
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Sift together the flour, salt and baking soda. Set aside.
Combine the egg, sugar, molasses, shortening and vanilla. Stir in the flour mixture, nuts and dates.
Line a 9 by 9 by 2 inch pan with wax paper, greased and lightly floured. Pour in the batter and bake 40 minutes or until done.
Turn out onto cooling rack; remove the wax paper. When cool, cut into 32 bars. Store in an airtight container.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Laughter lifts us over high ridges and lights up dark valleys in a way that makes life so much easier. It is a priceless gem, a gift of release and healing direct from Heaven.
Alan Cohen
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Oh my, that first photograph sure put a huge smile on my face. What a little sweetie pie! I try to be positive most of the time. Sometimes I do get a bit blue, but thankfully with prayer and faith, I am usually able to shake it off. Your molasses bars look fabulously tasty. I think I might make them for Todd! Have a wonderful Thursday. Bless you! xoxo
I was once very blessed to work amongst a team of funny (boisterous) individuals - who were definitely creative. They worked hard (television ad sales) but played hard, as well. (I miss the laughter.)
All these years later, one of my co-worker's wife works at a Scottsdale ad agency where they boast a fully-stocked bar. Steven said they're actually encouraged to drink every day -- in moderation, of course. Imagine!
