ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is George Washington’s birthday. He was the first President of the United States and was born on February 22, 1732. He served two terms of office from 1789 until 1797.
After the presidency, Washington retired to his home in Mount Vernon, Virginia where he died on December 14 1799 of a throat infection.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I’ve leaned from experience that the great part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not on our circumstances.
Martha Washington
I know we just celebrated President’s Day celebrating all of our Presidents but as George Washington was the very first President, I thought he deserved special mention. In the realm of things our Country is a young country and one I’m proud to be a part of.
We have rain rain and more rain around here. There is water water everywhere. I got out for a few essentials yesterday but am staying in and keeping dry today. I don’t want to take any chances of having a relapse now that I am finally feeling better.
Very slowly I’m trying to catch up on what I didn’t do for the week that I was sick. One thing about living alone is that if you are sick, nothing is done. I’ve a pile of laundry that seems to have no end. And the house needs a good Spring cleaning for sure !
Rainy days are good for house work anyway!
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
Think Spring !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Worry is the intrest paid by those who borrow trouble.
George Washington
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5734. for a return to good health
5735. for plenty to do, I’m never bored
5736. for a dry, warm home.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
It is better to offer no excuse than a bad one.
George Washington
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

Good ole George... sometimes I wonder if it's not "pc" to even acknowledge his previous existence or role in our country's history. I'm not one who worries about being "pc" either so... Happy Birthday George!! :-) Lovingly~ Andrea xxx
George Washington! Do you remember making pictures of him telling his Dad that he couldn't cut down the cherry tree? I do!
Now, they put the two president's birthdays together (Washington and Lincoln) and put it on a Monday, so the government workers can get off. Somehow, I don't think Washington or Lincoln would be pleased by that. xx
I hope you enjoyed your Presidents Day Pam! I am happy that you are feeling much better. It’s incridible how far behind we can get when we are ill and cannot dothethings we need to do. I hope that it doesn’t take you too long to catch up! Xoxo
